I can ignore the praises no longer, I want to add this to my pull list but I would hate to jump in at the end of an arc.

So my question is; could a new reader like me cop the next ish and be cool?

I suppose. I got on in the middle of a story arc, and found my way around easily enough.

Can I say, though, that I hope you're not just reading it because you've heard it praised? If you don't know the series, flip through one or two of the trades or something before you start buying it.

Start with #104 in March. It's a new arc featuring the Secret Six. Plus there are a few good trades out there including a new one due this month.
