All right, here's my pitch for my superhero webcomic Lightbringer. After I give you a brief idea of what it's about, just as an added bonus, I'll even admit what I feel are the pros and cons of it, just to ensure I don't have to have people remind me of them. ^_~

Pharos City was meant to be a shining beacon - the New York or Los Angeles of the Midwest. But after a few scant years, crime and corruption dragged the city to its knees. Criminals no longer fear conducting their business in the light of day. Now meet Carter Granholme, furniture salesman and pacifist. The city has taken his family, his courage, and now threatens to take his business and his friends.
But Carter has the ability to change everything. Carter was born with the ability to manipulate light in any way he can imagine and now he has reached his breaking point. Carter will become the world's first superhero - the Lightbringer. And he WILL save Pharos City.
Pros:
-I'm calling it a pro, but you can consider it a con if you'd like - so far most of the story has been a matter of good guys and bad guys. Upcoming storylines will feature some more sympathetic villains, but for the most part, there isn't a lot of angsting on the part of our hero.
-The comic tends to also deal with a good bunch of philosophy, mostly dealing with ideas of necessary evils, pacifism, moral absolutes. In upcoming storylines we'll deal with the possible cruelty of the divine, the loss of innocence, and who it is that Lightbringer is - the mask or the man behind the mask.
-Since this is mostly suppose to take place in the "real" world, Carter is an avid comic book fan, referencing Watchmen frequently as well as mentioning Batman and in upcoming storylines Cassandra Cain and Spoiler.
-Lightbringer does not kill people (there's been some discussion about whether that's a good thing or not over in the You'll Be Sorry forum. ^_~)
-Considering that the majority of the comic/webcomic superhero universes have dozens upon dozens of heroes in their pantheons, I'd like to think I'm being a little original by having so far only one superhero. ^_~
Cons:
-My artwork sucks. No denying it. However, if you look at a few more recent strips alongside earlier ones you can definitely tell there's some improvement, and I'm taking other steps to make the comic look better as I continue to get my drawing on better keel.
-That philosophy stuff I mentioned in the Pros? Well, a lot of the time I tend to take a fervent stand on one side of the debate and then run with it. This sadly can make it sound a little preachy.
-A few comics have A LOT of text in them, especially ones in which basically a speech/rant is happening, so it can look bad overall for the page. This is something that will definitely be improved on with the next storyline.
That's the stuff that specifically comes to mind, so have a heart and take a gander. Hope you like it! ^_^
