I walk.

Walking is good stress relief.

Posting on CBR is good too as long as it is not flame wars.

I work, or I talk it out with my loved ones, or I put it aside and continue on with my life. Sometimes it feels overwhelming, but there's nothing that can be done but slogging on through whatever's fucking with you.

You can overcome stress through detachment and compassion.

I take all my stress and compact it into a little ball that I force deep down inside me which I then pretend isn't there. When that doesn't work I turn to food, drugs and alcohol.

I imagine the person who is causing the stress naked having a crap.

I also remember that I am not Magneto and so regardless of how stressed I am, the world will not stop spinning as a consequence of my actions.

I also run... The endorphins rock!

But it's all down to finding something that you want to do and making some time for yourself.

Are you still pretending you're straight?

That seems to be the focus tonight.
My girlfriend is in bed and im on the internet, what else can you do at 6 in the morning on the internet besides experiment sexually?

It's like I never left. All we need is a chatroom to flirt in and it'd be like 1999 all over again.

Personally, I find meditation works wonders. So does kicking a heavy-bag.

Oh, and nothing beats a nice massage. I actually find giving them almost as relaxing as getting.

I read Matthew 26.
I shoot free throws endlessly. (Yes, I've got a bassetball Jones);)
I talk to my boys about real stuff, carefully designating that I am their father first and their friend second.
I visit gravesites of people I don't know and meditate.
I read.
I write.
I take a Klonopin prn.
I'll drink a bourbon and water on ice. House brand usually.
I shoot pool and smoke incessantly.
I sing.
I listen to my favorite music.

I like to burn things. Fire relaxes me. :D

Kidding..... sort of.

I usually like to watch TV or pop in a movie to relax. Or I mess around on the computer or sometimes I draw. If all else fails.....then I try chocolate.

Depending on the degree and/or cause of the stress:

1. Take a nice long walk.
2. Meditate for a bit.
3. Do some job hunting and send out some resumes
4. Go to my Kung Fu class and seriously punish one of the punching bags
5. Go to the archery range and empty my quiver a few times while imagining the offender's face on my target (even though I shoot instinct style, I'm a fairly good, and consistent shot)

Walking and talking to myself (under my breath when no one's around) usually works.

Then there's always the "punching hookers" route. But I try not to do that anymore. My hands still hurt.

Are you still pretending you're straight? Not too convincingly, though.

I take a Klonopin prn.I swear I read that as "clown porn" at first.

I have ridiculous anger problems, so when someone or something gets to me, I break shit. One day at work, can't for the life of me remember why exactly, but I was to the point of wanting to strangle somebody, so I walked into the back room and just went to town. I figure it's better I go nuts on inanimate objects than the people themselves.

Also, drinking and sex or a combination of the two never hurt.

I find a good public nudity to be a good stress reducer.

Also public awesomeness. Of which I perform constantly.

I think someone already mentioned games which is what I like. Max Payne 2's Dead Man Walking levels are VERY fun and stress relieving for me anyway. Watching my favorite movies help as well. Although sex is just as helpful. Yup.

My wife and I just closed down a glassblowing studio and gallery which we ran with a friend for ten years. The last few months were non-stop challenges and deadlines. We had a big party a few weeks ago where we smashed a bunch of old blown glass pieces and then threw paperweights at sheets of glass. It was very stress relieving and cathartic.

We also busted up our massive sales desk with sledge hammers and that was great fun too!

I haven't been doing the best job of dealing with stress all my life.

Recently, I pray/talk with my closest friends, maybe talk to or even yell at God. I write sometimes. (Why do the BEST stories come to me when I'm down? Stupid irony!) But the thing that makes me feel the best physically is a good workout. Free weights or cardio. It's AMAZING what a great natural high that can give you. Most of the time, I'm not just "not down" anymore, I actually feel good.

I suggest Body-for-Life as a guide. It's not everything it pretends to be, but it's a great place to start.

About 15 minutes of smashing does wonders.

Beyond that, getting myself out of whatever situation is causing the stress is usually helpful.

Now THAT looks like a good idea. (And it gave me a weird flash of the car bonus stage in Street Fighter II. Ah, memories.)

That was just on a couple hours ago. I think beating the living/unliving/inanimate fuck out of a copy machine is a great stress reliever.

Working out is the best medicine. It takes your mind off troubles for moments so you can find clarity and gets your body in physical shape if done right.

When the going gets tough, this tough smokes pot and watches "Family Guy". It's gotten me through a lot.

Oh, and I also work out. That helps too - and isn't illegal.

I try and eliminate sources of stress. If something is causing me too much grief for too long, then it's not worth having. When I can't do that right away, I usually play videogames. Ahhh, the cathartic joy of blowing away aliens, Nazis, and terrorists with any number of overpowered weapons.
