That's what I hope too. Other than that, Anna Nicole Smith's doesn't get much more than a shrug from me. Yes, I know that could sound heartless, but I'm as surprised and care as much about this as I would about someone like Paris Hilton dying. The newly born baby is the only part of this story that gets an "Aww, too bad" from me. Hopefully, the baby won't be stuck in some horrible media circus after this. I never understood why shows like Entertainment Tonight didn't leave the Smith family alone after Anna's son died. It's not like they were suspicious of the death and were giving investigative reports. They were more like "Day 22 after Anna Nicole Smith's son's death. Today, we'll hear from someone who met them on vacation once."

Her death isn't important. She was a punchline in life and is no less one in death. I feel sorry for the little girl that now grow up without her mother, but for Anna Nicole Smith herself I feel little.

In general, people are turned off by those who gain success through superficial means. Anna Nicole Smith was such a celebrity, much in the same way Paris Hilton is generally hated. Neither have any particular talent to warrant their success and celebrity. ANS couldn't act, wasn't smart, and had nothing going for her besides huge breast implants, and then she married an old fart billionaire for nothing more than financial gain. Hence, most people aren't going to have much respect for her. Some might call it jealousy, I suppose.

I don't know. Respect for her marrying a rich guy soley for the cash (i think he was 89 so that's pretty much fact)? No. Hard to justify that. But otherwise......she made it to Playboy (not that easy to accomplish). And last I checked being a stripper isn't exactly a skill-less gig. Superficial? Maybe. But when looks are all you have, more power to you.

I wasn't surprised that she died the way she did. Let's face it, she was a hard partying, pill poping bimbo. Had no talent what so ever, and was dumb as a rock. I agree with this. Get her into a decent home, put the money in a trust fund she can get her hands on when she's twenty-one, and let her live in peace and relative obscurity instead of a carny in a traveling freak show.

Cracking wise on dead people is certainly not in good taste, but most of us here have certainly never been confused with people who acted like they had any.
