Hello all. Was just wondering if anyone would be so kinda as to provide a list of all the Hellboy one-shots/stories that haven't yet been compiled in the TPBs volumes #1-6. I'm only interested in Mignola illustrated work... i.e. not BPRD stuff.

Right now I've got the Premiere Edition and Batman/Starman/Hellboy cross-over comics, and I'm aware of the four DH Books (e.g. Witchcraft, Dead, etc).

Many thanks.

Thanks! Is Hellboy: Makoma, or, A Tale Told by a Mummy in the New York City Explorers’ Club on August 16, 1993 any good? I understand that Mignola only did the last couple of pages...

Also, never heard of Hellboy: In Hell - are there any details anywhere?

Yeah, but Mike Mignola wrote the story. It's drawn mostly by famous comic artist Richard Corben. The art is a bit weird for Hellboy, but it's strong. It was sort of a warm-up for the upcoming long run of Hellboy in which Mignola won't be drawing.

All of the official Mike Mignola Hellboy comics published have been numbered on the inside cover. Makoma continued the numbering from The Island, so, though it isn't drawn by him, it's a part of the "official/canon" Mignola Hellboy series, so it's a must have for a Hellboy fan.

Hopefully it will be collected along with the five uncollected short stories as the next tpb (and since all the short story collection tpbs have had a new story in them I hope we can expect the same this time).

Which five are you talking about? The DH books and Premiere edition?

Also, I read somewhere that Hellboy: In Hell is being penciled by the man himself - any truth in that? I know Darkness Calls won't be.

I spy with my little eye a Mignola scripted HB story not on those lists.

;)

Well, Mignola shares the writing credit with Jai Nitz and Philip Reed.

Another hint? The art was by Zach Howard.

One more? Colors by Peter Bergting and Philip Reed.

Okay, the story is "The Kabandha" and it appears in the Hellboy Sourcebook and Roleplaying Game (pgs. 82-86) published in 2002. Not in the numbered "canon" sequence, but definitely from the mind of Mignola.

When can we expect the new TPB? With the 5 shorts and 2 issue Makoma plus the usual new short, its due. Dark Horse usually doesnt wait long to put these things to print and Id love a new Hellboy short to drool over. Any guess at the possible title of new the TPB?

Don't forget ''Next Men'' #21 with a Hellboy Cover and about 9 or 10 pages of Mignola art.....

^I think it's safe to say that that, along with Hellboy meets Savage Dravon, Hellboy/Batman/Starman, Hellboy meets Painkiller Jane (Ick BTW), Hellboy's cameo in Madman, and Hellboy meets The Goon, won't be collected in a Hellboy TPB. It's up to HB fans to get the back issues.

Which reminds me, still need to find the Next Men appearence and two Savage Dragon issues.

It'll be along before too long, and it'll be a collection of one-shots and shorts. Keep checking the website for updates--there should be one soon.

So you saying I needn't have just bought Makoma or the Wizard Premiere comic 'cos they're likely to all get published in the next TPB, and soon? Man, dammit. What a pain.

P.S. Hellboy meets Savage Dravon, Hellboy/Batman/Starman, Hellboy meets Painkiller Jane (Ick BTW), Hellboy's cameo in Madman, and Hellboy meets The Goon Of these, it's only Batman/Hellboy/Starman and Next Men #22 (of which I am a proud owner) that feature Mignola art, right? (Aside from covers.)

Dearest Rachel, how soon can we expect an update? Like, sometime this month? Also, when you say it'll be a collection of one-shots and shorts, does that include the four stories from the "Book of" series? I can't wait to add Volume 7 of the TPBs to my collection...

Nope. My strange adventures are strictly amateur.
