Small correction about the Nerve entry on Purple Man.

While his first appearance had him robbing banks, the purple man has pretty much ALWAYS been depicted as a rapist.

In the 70s, Purple Man would always be depicted with a beautiful woman on his arm (like women are actually attracted to purple men) AND the fact that Persuasion/Purple girl with her mom's story of months long adoration exists means that the revelation in Alias wasn't that big a revelation.

Its why there was never a big brouhaha about it a la the Dr. Light rape.

I just bought the Captain America essentials that has the very story from the panels. Now, maybe I have a jaded eye, but it sure seems to me they were sleeping together back then. After all, they *took* a vacation at the beach together. And they weren't sleeping in separate rooms.

Nothing as explicit as that scene in Brubaker/Epting's Cap, though. But that relationship is being handled really well, and the sex is an important part of their bonding.
