Art Thread: Ukyo's "BPRD Happily Lost Files"

Hello guys ! after a long time, I finally could update a part of my HellBoy (http://hellboy.free.fr) fansite ! I put online 2 short stories starring the Red Guy and some of the classic BPRD characters...
I also added one b/w drawing and some sketches I used to create the comic pages in the "gallery" section. I wish you a nice reading and hope you'll like them. As usual, your opinion is important, so feel free to comment here or on my hp ! For now I'll try to make more pages, it's really interresting to do ! See you soon !

I love how you handle a manga hellboy, but one thing that bugs me, is the agents facial expression, now i'm no expert but i've been a manga reader for the good portion of my 20 yr of existense. and the facial expression of agent clay ( i assumed so since he calld HB 'Red') is the facial expression normally reserved for shyness and bashfulness/embarrassment, usually used when a boy / girl confesses ther love for each other, seeing it used here is................quite disturbing to me.............

other than that, your style is very cute, very 'Clamp' like. which rules me out as an instant follower. sorry ;) tis a matter of personal taste

Actually, it's Myers, since HB is muttering his name under his breath.

And there's no specific expression for a love confession in manga, that's ridiculous. And I'd sure be embarrassed to ask HB to debase himself for my nephews, if I could get up the nerve at all.

And no, it's nothing like Clamp. The androgynous women comment was funny, though, if an overstatement. Remember Hideki doesn't look like a woman. Neither did Syaoran in Tsubasa.

But that's a very funny mental image: Hellboy drawn as an androgynous woman.

I missed the chibi Rasputin the first time I saw it because I was having problems figuring out whether it's Anung Ung Rama or Anung Un Rama. (still having problems >_<)

My favorite part was when they were arguing and he tricked him. It reminds me of the Bugs Bunny cartoons for some reason O_o;;.

In this strip, Abe doesn't project anything but a resigned attitude to his job. Certainly more appropriate backup for a professional young lady such as Liz than the slobbering hormone-heads that HB and Myers seem to have turned into.

Yes Naruto is an anime/manga - one that is very popular at the moment. Naruto is the name of the main character (he's the one in the lower right corner). It's a fantasy ninja anime.


Personally I like the "Hellboy meets TMNT" sketch.

Naruto, the kid with the spiky hair in the foreground, is the title character of a manga published currently in Japan and some of the early chapters now translated by Shounen Jump magazine in the US, the same in which this month's issue has a picture of Hellboy with Yu-Gi-Oh hair(I'll get back to you on that).
They wear head protecting bands with the symbol of thier village on them(What Abe and Naruto are wearing, the swirly leaf in place of the BPRD symbol on HB's coat, is from Naruto's hometown "Konoha"). The boy with the giant arm around Hellboy is Gaara, a badguy-who-is-actually-a-goodguy in the manga. He's been cursed, and that arm made of sand appears when he can't control his curse anymore.
The man in the very back is Orochimaru, an evil adult from the manga who's incredibly powerful and can control snakes, or summon his own HUGE ones. He's the current badguy of the manga.
The giant eye under them all belongs to a giant frog called Gama-Bunta. The story behind him is long and pointless to put here, go buy the current issues published already. Or, if you look around hard enough, you can get translated and up-to-date issues of Naruto on the internet. I'd give you a link but I don't know if that's legal :P

Well, coloring takes me a lot of time, cause I'm not used to.. but maybe one day :P For the textured colorings, it's usually my friend Koumako that gives me a helpful hand...
