Like a year, or two ago Marvel was trying to push Captain Universe to the forefront of the Marvel Universe. They did a lot of issues featuring heroes which temporarily possessed the uni-power, but these turned into pretty bad bombs that led the project dead. Eventually a weakend uni power was bonded with a crippled cop. Would you have bought it if it did come out? If not what would they have to do to make you try a character named Captain Universe?

Pic for those that don't know.

Not really keen on this concept.

I did like the original Captain Universe - Captain Ray "Floating" Coffin (the whole reason why he's Captain Universe) in the Micronauts, but the concept has been worn down so much over time, particularly with things like the Enigma force et al being removed from the Marvel Universe due to licensing issues, that Captain Universe just doesn't work for me anymore.

The last time I saw the Uni-Power in action and liked it was Spidey vs the Tri-Sentinel and Quasar & the Amulet of Agamatto fighting Set in that issue of What If. It would take a merged Uni-Power/Quantum Band book with Wendell Vaughn for me to even consider it, and in the end it would still feel awkward.

Captain Universe was a Micronaut thing. It just doesn't feel right without them.

I read 3 or 4 of the one-shots and disliked them so much it soured me on the concept. Maybe if they'd been good I'd have considered it.

To be honest I didn't even really care for the idea back in the day (when it was in the Hulk annual and stuff).
