Greetings non true believers,

As comic fan who mainly reads Marvel titles (besides the GL books and Batman) I don't know much about the other characters and was wondering if there are any good up to date character archive websites online so that I can start reading about the recent changes in the DCU incase I decide to try out another book.

Also are there any other books yall would recomend reading that wouldnt be to hard to get into? Maybe like the new Flash or Atom? And whats the main stream Superman book, cause i know Marvel does the same thing with Spider-Man and puts out 5 books about him and has one book be the main story and the other books tell side stories.

Thanks for the help.

I can't think of one website that will suit your needs, though I'm sure others in the forum can assist you. As for the Superman titles, it's not quite the same as Spidey. While Amazing is Spidey's flagship title (though Sensational and FN are terrific), both Action Comics and Superman appear to be on equal footing. Geoff Johns, Superman director Richard Donner and Adam Kubert are currently working on AC and it's quite good so far. Former Avengers scribe Kurt Busiek and Carlos Pacheco are working on a time-bending story on Superman. Right now both titles have independent stories, but they've had interwined stories in the past. Grant Morrison's All Star Superman is my favourite Superman book, but it's not part of the monthly continuity of the two Superman books.

I'm a huge Flash fan and I've been really disappointed in the new series but I urge you to give it a try with this month's issue (#9) because Marvel writer Marc Guggenheim takes over the book and he has promised to respect the legacy of the various Flashes yet make it perfectly accessible to new readers. The Flash has always been one of DC's best books and I believe Marc will raise the book's appeal.

Have you read Justice League of America or Justice Society of America? These are recently-restarted series that I'd recommend--some great superhero team books and I'm already a fan of the New Avengers and Brubaker's Uncanny X-Men run.

I haven't read the Atom, but I've heard good things about the book. Gail Simone is a good writer and John Byrne drew the first few issues.

It rhymes with Frickiweedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page)?

And if you're interested in getting into some newer books, I definitely recommend The Atom and Blue Beetle. Old names but new kids under the masks, and both books have been extremely fun.
