Sword of Storms on DVD - $16.99 at Best Buy (according to their circular but $12.99 according to their website), comes with "EXCLUSIVE BONUS HELLBOY FIGURINES" (these are from the Animated Hellboy Bust-Ups by Gentle Giant) [quantities limited]
Sword of Storms on DVD - $14.99 at Circuit City, comes with exclusive poster
The plan: buy 1st copy @ BB, get figurines, buy 2nd copy @ CC, get poster, take CC copy to BB and get refund
Also, plan to buy The Amazing Screw-On Head DVD @ CC while there.
Walmart is listing two versions, one regular DVD and one with an exclusive "bonus item" that is unidentified, although they mention the "Packaging Type is Side-by-Side", which could indicate a bonus disc of some sort (in that twin pack they are fond of using for their exclusives).
If anyone knows of any other DVD exclusives, please post. (Target and Meijer currently have no exclusives.)

Man, I feel like I'm getting ready for an afternoon at SDCC what with all of the exclusives, special offers, etc. Granted, I'm sure each of these special items will reach different people and each person will enjoy those items in different ways, however, I think the overall point is getting people to buy the movie- which I plan to do.

I would try and get all the exclusives, but it would be an hour long drive to Pensacola on a school(or college?) night. And I would get nervous trying to keep the extras and getting a refund. But I might yet talk myself into it, but doubtful. But I'll be giggling with glee either way. Did I say giggling? I meant manly laughter, yeah thats it. Manly.

Yeah, the BB exclusive is indeed in a different box that contains the regular DVD (w/ cardboard slipcase) and the three figures (in individual plastic bags). I'm probably going to get a full set of the Bust Ups anyhow (and hopefully any variants if Gentle Giant does them for this series).
The poster from CC is very nice (I think it is a full 24"x36" or thereabouts, I'm at work now and it's at home).
After work, on to Walmart...

Just got back from Best Buy. SOLD OUT. They only have 10 copies per store. I don't know if that means 10 copies of the one with figures or 10 copies total. Either way, they were out of 'em. And I had a gift card to spend, too. :(

Went to one Circuit City and they had buried SOS in the horror section behind copies of movie Hellboy. When I asked about the free poster, they looked at me like I was crazy and said there was no such thing. Then I went to the Circuit City in the next town over and they still hadnt unpacked their shipment. I had to ask for the DVD and when I asked for the poster,I got the same blank look. Fortunately, there was a huge long poster-sized box behind the counter and after asking the clerk to look into it,I got my poster. As he handed it to me,the clerk asked "How'd you know about that?" Oh,gee,I dont know...maybe because it was featured in your Sunday ad?:evilangry

Yes, my CC also did not have SOS in their "New Release" section, but crammed into the ACTION section!
I asked the cashier about the Amazing Screw-On Head while I was there, she looked at me like I was crazy and made me write the title on a post-it note (English is not this cashier's first language). Then she got sidetracked by someone who slammed down a stack of DVDs and demanded to be rung up right bloody then! Ummm, hello, I'm in line here, and you just cut in front of me. So I went and got another red shirt, explained how fucked up things were, and demanded my poster, of which he could only find one. So I paid and left and will return the DVD later in the week.
(I eventually got ASH at Walmart this afternoon.)
As for BB, my local store had maybe 12 on the shelf with the figures and easily 20 copies of the regular DVD.

Hey, it's NW Ohio, I was the first person through the door at 10am, even though it was about 5 degrees outside. There was a whole mess of people behind me, but most of them went running for the video game section.

Don't know about Santa Monica, but there were still several copies with the figures at the Westwood Best Buy this afternoon. Didn't see any regular copies, though.

Well, I only say that about Burbank because most of the cartoon studios are there (Disney, Warner, Cartoon Network, Nick, etc. etc.) and they are jam-packed with nerds. I'm sure it's the same for most of LA near the studios and such.

My Wal-Mart had plenty of Screw-On-Head in stock. And Storm of Swords was available both by itself or with the comic for the same price.

Its Phantom Limbs. Black Wedding is sold seperately. I haven't found it yet. I might have to order it.

Walmart has the dvd with a extra comic beside it, Black Wedding. sold at same price as the regular dvd.
Got my BB package today, man those little guys are hard to put together! Both hb's are easy enough but that lightening was a pain! even with modeling glue he still wont stay up! Oh well, more glue and some clamps might do the trick...
But still... they ARE pretty awesome!

I stopped by BB to pick up the SOS DVD, but ended up leaving with nothing. I'll pick it up somewhere else. It was just too frustrating to deal with the kids at that store. I'll try to keep the story short -
I had no idea that Best Buy had the figurine offer, so was kind of psyched when I saw the BB yellow tag on the DVD rack underneath the DVD that said: FREE figurines with purchase of Hellboy:Sword of Storms.
cool!
and sitting right next to the dozen standard DVDs were 3 copies of the DVD with the figurines inside
- but with a $5 higher price tag.
huh?
a BB kid happened by to see if I needed help, and I said "the sign says the figures are free, but it's got a $5 higher price tag. what's up with that?"
he goes and checks and tells me the price is actully less than shown on the sticker on the box. but it's still a price $2 more than the standard version.
"well, how can the figures be free if it costs $2 more?"
he tells me "it's a special edition"
right, the special edition with the FREE figures. so it should be the same price. not $2 more.
"that's because it's the special version"
I tell him "right, the special version with the *FREE* figurines!"
this conversation went nowhere fast.
so I hauled both versions of the DVD and the yellow tag up to customer service.
I explain the situation to her about the discrepant pricing.
After scanning everything she tells me:
"our computer shows that the free offer of the figures mentioned on ad matches the code on the box of the one with the figures inside"
no kidding?
not the best of starts, but I press on and ask again, but why does it cost more if they are FREE?
"that's just what the computer shows me"
wow.
I gave up and walked out.
