Hey Folks!

I've not been around the Comic Forums for some time ... and I am really out of the loop.

Can someone tell me what (if anything) is happening with the return of a Thor-solo comic? And is Thor appearing in any other titles?

Thanks ... I really appreciate it!

Thor hasn't appeared since Thor: Ragnarok, a part of Avengers Disassembled. Thor essentially ended the cycle of death and rebirth for the Asgardians.

Since that story, Thor has yet to appear in a "current continuity" story.

In The Road to Civil War issues of Fantastic Four Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, landed on Earth. Dr. Doom (who had been trapped in Hell) was freed when Thor's hammer traveled across time and space. Doom attempted to lift Thor's hammer but failed.

During the early FF issues of Civil War, various people waited in line to lift Thor's hammer. Each individual proved incapable of lifting Thor's hammer until a man with the initials D.B. arrived and lifted the hammer up high. He vanished before anyone got a real good look at him.

Thor is currently MIA and his status should be revealed in the upcoming JMS/ Olivier Coipel Thor series (which has yet to be scheduled).

The Thor running around in Civil War is a cyborg/ clone created by Reed Richards, Tony Stark and Hank Pym. His nickname around the internet is "Clor".

Just to add, the new Thor series is supposed to start "This summer."

Are there any sketches or interviews for the book?

There was an Asgardian special "Book of the Dead" last year that listed all the Asgardians and associated characters, as they were all dead thanks to the final true Ragnarok finally happening. It listed Thor as being dead, even though technically he's not, but is rather undergoing some kind of Odinsleep-like thing dissipated out in the cosmos somewhere.

Quite frankly, although I always wanted to see Volstagg get in shape (a guy a foot taller than 6' 8" Thor and much larger should be pretty powerful) I was thoroughly disgusted at how they just slaughtered his wife and kids. Why not just slaughter Laurel and Hardey while you're at it?

Presumably Thor, with all Odin's powers, including the ancient Rune knowledge (like this couldn't pwn Thanos) plus some new realizations of his own (thanks to the two blind eyes thing, "going where Odin didn't even go"), is off somewhere dreaming up how to restore a new Asgard without those ancient god's gods sticking their fingers into the pie anymore.

But how you're going to end up with a new Asgard without a foretold Ragnarok, I don't know.

The best Thor books currently in print are both the Essential Thor volumes @ & 3 and Marvel Masterworks books covering Journey into Mystery 100-140 in color!
