With all the time he's been spending with it, learning how magic works and all that, I wouldnt be surprised if Ralph says "y'know somtin? Im too moody to do the whole 'stretch' thing anymore. Hey helmet! get on my noggin and let us do the hocus to the pocus!"
Ok, maybe not that, but you get the gist.

Also there was the Detective Chimp story a week or two back, saying 'It was the first time that I had seen the helmet since Captain Marvel threw it into space." This prolly means that the chimps' experience with the helmet happened during 52, since one year later would have allowed the Dark Knight to have responded to the mysterious murder of four-super hero wannabe's. It also would mean that it happened before week...ah, 18, since the detective Bobo also did not recall how the helmet was seen with dibny.
