#46, the end of the storyarc that starts today, is their last ish.
Adam Beechen (ROBIN) will be the new writer. Not sure the new artist.

Adam Beechen is a great writer (if you don't believe me, check out one of his JLU issues). I had recently dropped Titans in favor of waiting for the trades, but now that Beechen is coming on as the writer I'm going back to buying single issues.

Man, this is gonna' be weird. Not that I'm entirely in love with everything Johns did with the book these past few years, but I liked it a lot. Enough to never think about dropping it. On the other hand, I wasn't the biggest fan of Beechen's Robin. Gonna' have to see how this goes.

Dammit. I was just starting to pick it up with #42 because I like Kid Devil and loved that issue. If Adam Beechen ditches him from the roster I guess I'll be dropping the book again. Meh. :p

His JLU is great, but the tone of the Teen Titans book is very different. We'll have to see how well he can pull it off.

Geoff implies in the interview that Kid Devil is one of the characters that Beechen will be keeping.

Teen Titans has been really good lately, but I suspect Beechen can maintain the quality. I just hope the art remains strong, I quite like Daniels's art. And please keep my favorites: Miss Martian, Ravager, and Kid Devil!

I hope you're right. It would be annoying to read the book for 5 issues and then drop it.

I really enjoy Beechen's JLU, so I check this out when it comes around.

Thank *God*. Maybe Beechen's Titans will be, y'know, fun.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
A Beechen Titans should be fun.
Unless he's given untenable editorial restrictions.

Sad to see Geoff (and Tony) go - but actually quite looking forward to Adam coming on board. It should promote cross-continuity between the Robin solo book and TT for the first time in, well, ever.

This is unfortunate. Teen Titans was arguably Geoff Johns' greatest contribution to DC Comics to date. With it he took a once-popular title that had repeated unsuccessful attempted revivals (and which many had no doubt given up on ever being popular again) and made it a hit.
Glad there are so many Beechen fans here. I haven't read his JLA stuff, but personally can't get beyond my disappointment with his work on Robin (who is a key character in Teen Titans). I think I'll be dropping this from my pulls effective the end of the current storyline. :(

Well, I wish Geoff and Tony the best of Luck and I will try out Beechen's work on TT. :)

Adam Beechen, the guy that turned Batgirl into a monologueing Bond-villain takes over the Titans?
Well, my pull list is too long as it is anyway...

I give every writer at least an issue to grab me (if I didn't, I wouldn't have been so fortunate to read Red Son despite how much I hated Ultimates). So don't be quick to judge a creator who hasn't even gotten his hands on the book yet. Every writer has their good and bad stories (hell, a lot of the people who liked Johns' work on this book were utterly disappointed with Infinite Crisis). I didn't like Beechen's run on Robin myself, but I'm willing to see what he does with the team before I decide to drop it.

Yeesh. I'm several Titans runs behind. I'm a big fan of the Wolfman / Perez run, just picked up the first collection of the Johns run, enjoyed it, and now he's leaving...

Other way around, I say. The guy can be good... when he's got people that know the characters and universe checking up on him. His best work is on projects where there's either no/very little canon to get wrong (and he's still managed go make big mistakes with it, but nobody cared) or things where the editors are hands on and check to make sure everything fits. Where the editors haven't been checking to make sure his ideas fit...
Well, Batgirl.

I agree with you a bit on the statements you made about Johns. I began reading TT a while back and I loved it. He really did bring TT back from pretty much nowhere. In a difference of opinion though I think Johns' greatest Contribution was what he did with GL. Thats just me though. Not to argue or anything. Unfortunately I dropped TT a while ago, but the trades i have are awesome.

John's run on the Titans never quite clicked for me. To me, it always felt like it was lacking something. His leaving the title could be the step in the right direction that I've felt it's needed for a while.

Well, he's set Beechen up with a great cast (assuming they all survive this final arc), so if Adam's so inclined, he can keep those characters and the readers that attract them, and hopefully attract more readers with a change in direction (something a little brighter, and more fun than dramatic).

To be honest, I don't see how he could even go the other way. John's Teen Titans was downright depressing most of the time.

Well if there's one thing Beechen knows besides Tim, its the Titans. Just I wonder which Titans they will be.

I've never read any of his stuff before so I'll at least give him an arc or two. As for the artist, if the rumors are true that McKone has gone back to being DC exclusive, I would love to see him back on TT.

Well, in his defense as much as I hated Infinite Crisis I think he did the best he could given the story was just one big editorial mandate and he was left to string in together. Dan Didio even admitted killing off Superboy was because he wanted a big moment- not that the writers did. So that leads me to think most of IC was editors doing the work.
Though we both still miss Superboy and Kid Flash.
Well thats nice to hear from him. I still miss Superboy and Kid Flash too (apparently readers prefer Bart as Kid Flash too as his Flash title isn't doing well). I really did love Johns/McKone restart of Titans and wish the roster lasted longer than it did. I do think he unfortunately stalled out at the end trying to put in filler before the big Crisis, like many other books did though too. Oh well, I still have my old copies to re-read and think about how much more could have been without another Crisis interupting.

Ah well.

I may give this title a look now. It's nott Johns, maybe he was too crowded with stuff. One error I just made this week was to accept 3 projects at the same time, I need the moneyy and I can deliver on time, but one client will ultimately will not receive the better of my work. And this is wrong, I've learned my lesson. Perhaps that's been happening with him?
It's not ALL YOU CAN EAT. Because later on it'll be all you can sh*t.
So maybe this new writer will bring some more kick and understanding into the book. I could never figure out where Johns was going, maybe I'll buy this new TT.

YES!
I was a YJ fan, I stuck around TT for about 3 years and finally stopped getting it after Hurricane Katrina because I never liked the book, I had just kept reading hoping it'd get better...and it never did.
I hope he does well, or atleast better than I think Geoff did. (then again, I rank Geoff on Titans as barely any better than Austen on X-men).
And just to note, this isn't all-out bashing Geoff. I love most of his other titles, especially JSA.

My wife and I only care about Raven - if she's in it and handled well, we'll keep reading. If not, we won't.
Let that be a warning!
