Hello,
I am new to this forum (a friend of mine pointed me out about it) and this is my first post.

I am not used to make customs but being a great fan of the Mignola's art I decided to give it a try. What you see here is an "Angry Hellboy" action figure (8" tall) from Mezco Toyz (hellboy comic series 1) - not from the standard production line, but one of the prototypes.

The protptype was in perfect conditions, only painted with a coat of dark gray.

The first step was to disassemble the figure and decide the new pose, making the new joints with a thick brass rod to avoid any kind of deformation.

All the joints were freezed using the epoxy putty and resculpting with the original texture the missing areas, while for the setting I decided to sculpt a dead dragon, using the below Mignola's artwork as reference.

Very impressive, Nengx. It's always entertaining to see customs, and I love that dragon.

Thank you all, this is a quick (and bad) shot of the current painting progress, I am trying to render it in a cartoons style.

Really cool work in progress pictures, thanks for posting them!
You made so much work with this figure and although you're already painting it, I'd like to make a couple of suggestions. Only a couple...
:)
I'd try to add some additional hanging (triangular) sideburns to both sides... Also, I'd try to cut off a little section from the first link of the tail - to remove this straight part, it looks a little bit weird on some of the photos...

Dragon's head is super!
:)

Thank you all and thank you Ivar, I will keep your suggestions for the next one, whan I read them the piece was almost finished.

This is the final result, painted with brushes and acrilic colours, trying to achieve a rough, cartoony style.

Hello again,
this beautiful sketch by Skottie Young is what inspired the following sculpt, the horns version is just a variant.

The reference artwork

Looks great! Looks alot like the comic series 1 Hellboy figure. And the Busts are great too. You could work for Gentle Giant.

Oh wow-nice job!
And I was never a big Young fan...but really like his stuff as of late.
To quote the great Bobby D:
