Hey there Mr 666. And thanks
I'll post another later.
How are you? How is your Superman Fanfic coming on?

02-04-2008, 01:37 PM
Fine, thank you. Job driving me crazy and making me want to kill someone, but that's the way it is, I guess. How about you? How are you?
As for the 'fic, pretty slow, I must say. I added a couple of ideas I had to it, but there hasn't been any serious progress for a while. I was going to ask you if you were still willing to help me with the beta-reading. It's been a long time since I sent you part 1, after all.

Not been around for awhile friends.
So we noticed. Welcome back, Kara!
This is a very eerie, dreamlike image. Once again, it would make a great cover for a progressive rock record. (Porcupine tree maybe?)
Cheers, and let's see some more!

Thanks Roque!
I'll Beta read the fanfic 666.

And damn, that's what I call a work of art. The phrase "corrupted childhood" is what came to mind after I saw it. I could be wrong, though.

This stuff really is fantastic, especially considering you were 18 and baked at the time. Do you have any more recent sequential stuff you've done, by any chance? Or is it all under trademark and such?

thanks Meyvn. I don't have anymore recent sequential stuff. I've got a whole load that's on A2 paper and I'll have to scan each page in six parts and thenm put it all together in photoshop but my photoshop is playing up, so I can't do it.
I don't have anything under trademark because I'm not professional comic artist. Which shows!!!
However I am a professional writer, working in British theatre, radio and TV.
as soon as I get photoshop up and running again I'll post my Vampire comic.
In the meantime here's another picture

Ha. At first I read A2 and thought, "Jesus, that's huge!" but if you want to leave room for more detail and/or oversized printing later, it certainly makes sense. O international standards (that my country ignores)! That reminds me how much I wished we had ISO 216 here; A4 is so much more useful than 'letter' in academia and such. Nice drawing, this, by the way: something about the hole in the nose really adds more texture to it, I think.

It was too big really. I just thought at the time that was the size professionals used. I'd misread some pictures I'd seen of Bolland at work.
But once I started I stuck with it. and the whole thing took ages. However I'm sure when shrunk it'll look better for it, although due to my lack of ability to start again, use reference material and my baked brain at the time, the proportions of anatomy can be off the wall. But there is some good stuff there and I'm looking forward to being able to post it.

You know it's weird because that last pic is from the 90's the other pencil ones are from the last few months to present but that last one is old. So I don't remember if it's meant to be a poppy or not. I've never touched heroin but my sister was an addict until it took her life, so I may have been reacting to that with this picture. I'm glad you showed me that picture because it suddenly gives my bleeding flower more poignancy.

Hey, man, we've missed ya!
More goodness from your pencils, and still that cool Moorcock vibe from the green one-eyed Martian! (One-eyed characters obviously win points in my book, as my avatar will attest).
That last character looks great. I'm sure medieval philosophers equating the body with yuckiness would have appreciated the apposition of an exploded anatomy (complete with fungus growing on the genitals!) with the upraised pages, symbol of the intellect.
Welcome back!

I'm just so busy working on plays at the moment over here in Blighty, with deadlines and all and I just have no time to come here. But I'll always be back to check out my favourite threads on the NEVER ENDING FORUM!!

Oh, just fine, thanx. But not finished yet :frown:. I've been kinda busy, too, so I haven't had much time to write. However, I rewrote a huge chunk of the thing, and I'm glad I did.

New computer now so I can get Photoshop 7.0 working again after my old one stopped being able to run it because of RAM.
So I drew the face, inked the outlines, scanned it and then opened it in Photoshop 7.0. Trying new things, such as hue in the paintbrush tool and opacity to blend other colours in. Smudge tool too. I can see an improvement already. Hopefully i can really get to grips with this great tool in the future. Haven't much spare time though.
Might try and watercolour the original paper peice and see how that turns out.

Well, the last 8 pictures I've posted have failed to draw a comment. Not even critism. How I long for the good old days when I manged to get the odd one here and there. Lol. Oh the pain of my obscurity the humiliation of my ostrasizing, the tumbleweeds are my only friends. and even they have turned on me since I chopped one into a soup. I don't regret it, the taste was sublime. Anyway, I know you want more, so here is another H G Wells inspired fighting machine.
