Some BACK IN BLACK Spoilers

There has been some preview pages of the upcoming Spider-Man Family #1 released here:

In these pages it is pretty evident that Peter, if that is him in the panel with a guy lying in bed, has reunited with the symbiote. The way it is draped across the chair was like he used to leave it when he slept. The webbing is coming out of the backs of his hands as it did with the symbiote. And during the fight with Sandman you can see some black tendrils snaking off of his body.

I'm pretty sure it's in conntinuity, and I'm pretty sure it's an untold tale from the days when Peter did have the symbiote. The solicit even says as much.

That doesn't say specifically it was an untold tale from that time. It does say he is in his original black symbiote costume. So he could reclaim the symbiote from Mac Gargan and that statement would still be accurate. Although you could very well be correct in the way you read the solicit. I just think that Scorpion should be Scorpion and if there is to be a Venom then Eddie Brock should be the psychopath it is bonded to.

If that was a current story and not a story from the past why would the symbiote even bother pretend to be a regular costume laying on the chair like it did in the past? Peter knows it's alive. It wouldn't pretend not to be.

Well, that would mess up Thunderbolts' continuity, now wouldn't it?

This wasn't a spoiler... unless it happens in Amazing, Friendly Neighborhood or Sensation Spider-Man titles then its not in continuity or its an untold tale. Besides somebody already said this like a week or two ago and got the same reaction from everyone

Is Ellis' new Thunderbolts run not enough to get people to realize this is not happening? I agree, it would be a neat idea to reunite Spider and the symbiote, especially with SM3 coming out this summer, but it's not happening in Back in Black. It's quite obviously a fabric costume.

I agree. I remember this story being talked about months before the mention Spider-Man going back to black. Sean meantioned it ages ago.

It's an untold tale, Spider-Man Family jumps around in continiuty alot. We had a future Spider-Girl story and we had a past story that put Spider-Man and his Amazing Friend's into the Marvel Universe.

SHIELD or some such group may have found a way to clone the symbiote but make it "tame", if you will. Spiderman then nicks that.

Yeah I agree that its probably going to be just a normal fabric costume. I also agree that it wouldnt be hard to write in some way of having it be a symbiote suit. I mean do we even know what happened to Toxin? For all we know Spider-man shows up too late to a crime scene and finds Pat dying.

It was somewhat hinted that the Toxin suit is less violent (or easier to control) than Venom and Carnage. We also dont know what Pat is doing. It seems strange for Marvel to just drop this character, even if he wasnt that well received. It wouldnt (in my eyes) be a strech to see theat Symbiote quickly jump from Pat to Parker if Pat was dying.

Of course it'll be out in England. We always get them the day after America gets them. Though if you're expecting it to be printed in Astonishing don't expect that to happen for a long time. They've only just started printing "Sins Past" which is practically 3 years old.

Remember when he was running around in a black costume, and fighting Venom? They didn't both have the symbiote.....
