Hey everyone i'm about to start reading the Green Lantern books but i'm trying to figure out where to start! I don't want to go really far back or anything, I just want to start somewhere with the new stuff. So here's my 3 questions...
1. For the "Green Lantern" book, would it be best to start at issue #1 and go from there? ..or would it be easy to get in to it at a more recent point?
2. What about GL Corps? Also what exactly is this book about?
3. For my last question, before I do anything should I read the books Rebirth and Recharge?
Thanks!!

Probably try out the first trade, or the mini that relaunched the franchise, Green Lantern: Rebirth.
2. What about GL Corps? Also what exactly is this book about?
What about it? It's about the Corps.
3. For my last question, before I do anything should I read the books Rebirth and Recharge?

I would probably pick those up and see if they're to your liking. If not, I wouldn't bother with the rest.

1. The new volume of Green Lantern is already being collected in trades. I think you can get the first three right now. First, I'd pick up Rebirth and Recharge. OYL is an alright jumping on point, but I'm sure they'll be bringing stuff up from the first year of the series again soon enough.
2. The first Corps trade isn't out yet, but the book's only seven or eight issues in, so it shouldn't be hard to catch up. And again, check out Recharge.
3. I've already thoroughly answered this one. :p

What about it? It's about the Corps.
To be more specific, it's about the alien Green Lanterns (plus Guy Gardner) based on Oa fighting alien threats.

I'd generally agree with everyone else. I definitely suggest you read Recharge before you pick up Green Lantern Corps, since that's where nearly every character in the ongoing is introduced, but while it's a good idea, I wouldn't necessarily call it VITAL that you read Rebirth. Yeah, it explains how Hal comes back and all, as well as Coast City, but if you're not all that concerned with particulars, it's not a huge deal. You can basically summarize it as "Hal's not dead anymore. Also, none of that Parallax shit was Hal's fault and everyone knows it now, so he's a superhero again. And...go!"
Like I say, I recommend reading Rebirth. But if you wanna save a few bucks, the GL book can be enjoyed without it. I don't believe I got a hold of it until I was several issues into the new series. Oh, and welcome aboard.
