I would have put in Best actress and supporting actress to, but I mention these two because I've agrued about them the most. My very good friend of mine and myself have been arguring about the Lead actor race. I think Will Smith has it, he was absolutley inspiring in the pursuit of Happyness. So much so, right after seeing it I got a job and got a girlfriend!( course,the job was at Big Boy's and me and the girl broke up two weeks after words, but that's besides the point.)
My friend, on the other hand thinks the victor will be Forrest Whitttaker. He said was absolutely astonizing as Idi Admin. I've seen both King and Happyness and so has he,and were both at odds. My uncle thinks it will Peter O'Toole mainly because the academy will hand him the gold before he kicks the Bucket. My mom added that Leo Dicpario would be a front-runner it he got a nod. for the Departed instead of Blood Diamond. We all agree however,that Ryan Gosling has no chance in heaven,hell or even Las Vegas of winning.
That's when another debate came up: what about Supporting Actor? I think Eddie Murphy will easily win because he's won everything else,why not this? His singing was suberb, and he showed the vulenblity of superstars. My friend once again differs, he says Alan Arkin will win, and if doesn't, he should win. We even went as far as making a bet: I say Murphy will win, my buddy says that Murphy won't. Which means even if Arkin loses and so does Murphy, he still wins. He saw Little Children(Jackie Earle Haley) ,The departed(Mark Wahlbeg), and Blood Diamond(Djlimon Housnou and thought they were all astonishing in their respective roles.
So,the question: who in your opnion deserves the prize(s)?
