I;m not really sure i like it, he looks almost like a teen

Wasn't the original Lion-O just a kid in an adult's body? I don't see how this will be all that different.

Making him a teenager will be more bearable than the random, unexplained aging from the original series.

It was explained. There was a crack/leak in his sleep chamber. So he aged on the trip.

I want to feed a cookie... more like a bag full of cookies. And couple plates of sammiches.

I am so tired of the skinny "Aaron Carter" type bodies.

Why has adult muscular bodies gone the way of the do-do?

Yeah, but they need to bulk him up a little. He's way to scrawny looking. Even if they don't, it should look better in motion. The stills never do the finished product justice. I just hope those supposed rumors somebody posted lower on the page aren't true... except for maybe Mumra with wings.

Really? I'd heard the theory that his capsule malfunctioned somehow, but I didn't think it was ever actually explained.

Either way, I think it was a stupid idea to begin with. Making him a teenager from the beginning makes much more sense. Sure, he's a little skinny, but most fit teens are.

Snarf's the leader! The Thundercats are in a rock band! The hell?

This is Thundercats. Not Josie and the Thundecats!

What's with the hair? He looks like Vaan from Final Fantasy 12. Or the dude from 10. Well, and 9, too. Getting a FF vibe here.

Well, he does look more like a cat, which might be what they were going for.

I can see updating the looks, but I think the original concept of the show was quite good and was set in an interesting universe/great continuity. None of this rock band crap.

If Panthro has the body of The Rock, I think it would even out..

I'm actually kinda worried what they're gonna do to Tygra after seeing that. Not just looks wise but personality. Something tells me they're gonna make him one of those introspective stoner types.

So Lion-O is now younger looking. He's the new Anakin Skywalker. Forget the Eye of Thundera, he can use the force!

I'm trying to figure out which image is more blatantly stereotypically homosexual. Honestly, I can't decide.

DWEarhart

I wouldn't say homosexual. Metrosexual seems more sufficient; at least until I hear the voice actor.

OK, I lied, this one is good too.

A marked improvement i'd say. Generally speaking the hero is supposed to be the sort of average guy in the group. Surrounded by slightly quicker more agile characters and slightly stronger characters and slightly smarter characters.

I must say though i believe thundercats is directly responsible for the "Furry" movement.

80s Cartoons lead to sexual deviation apparently.

Actually it's been around for quite a long time before that. A very long time, far longer than you believe. For one, Bugs Bunny cartoons featured Anthromorphic animals with human personalities. Which is the first major cultural expression of that sort of thing. But it actually dates back farther than that. It's actually an outgrowth of ancient traditions, much like that of Native Americans and such, the whole Animal Spirit Guide aspect.

And secondly, not everyone involved in the Furry culture is into fur suits and sexual things. That's actually a very small corner of the culture, and even most Furry types don't consider the movement having anything to do with sexual. But much like anything misunderstood, those who look to make fun of it actually focus on the most bizarre aspects and apply it to the entire group. Much like how all gays must be flaming limp-wristed queens.

I agree with everything in your statement Beast, it bothers me how people look at group and the majority by the minority. A good example of the episode of CSI from I believe two seasons ago, Kathrine and Brass are both taken back by the Furry culture while Grissom takes the time to learn about it and later in that season they dealt with a case that involved them going to an FA(Fat Admires) convention, while some of the characters were taken back by it other tried to understand it. I am an FA(I like thicker girls) and I enjoyed the episode while others thought it was maken fun of the culture. I also like the Furry stuff but I don't dress in a costume, I think that we as a soceity must learn to understand and appreciate each for our differences instead of judging them.

As for the "new" Lion-O, I like it; the design is more cat-like and besides back in the 80's the culture was more intune with the "big-muslemen" type look at the early Arnold Schwarzenegger movies and all their countless imitators. This is a different time and also as much as I know that all the children of the 80's hate hiring this the new series is being made for a newer generation and not for us.

As long as they put a lot of effort into the series I'll enjoy it, both the re-vamps of Masters of the Univers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were handled quite well and while Masters didn't last as long it was still very well made.

I was so disappointed when MOTU was cancelled. I dig the original, but this latest revamp exceeded all expectations.

I've just started really paying attention to the latest TMNT series. The first season was okay, but it's been getting better and better, especially with this Fast Forward arc.

So was I my friend, hopefulley it'll end up on DVD soon. I know that it probably won't happner his way, but I'd love it if BCI could get there hands on it they've done a fantastic job with the original MOTU as well as She-Ra and the New Adventures of He-Man.

As for the TMNT, I'm loving Fast Forward it's building up quite nicely and I can't wait to see how things turn out, if they contiune the series in the future or if the Turtles and Splinter return to the past/present and I wonder if the succes of the upcoming movie will effect the current series at all.

pfft.. The Thundercats don't look nearly animalistic enough for my tastes, frankly.

I was cheesed off at the cancellation of He-man. The third season would have been awesome. Hordack was supposed to be the main villain and it was to have introduced She-Ra.

I kinda wish they would make it more of a Thundercats: The Next Generation and focus perhaps on a more young adult Wilykit and Wilycat with our Thundercats in a more adult supporting role.

Ya know.. instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.

While I don't agree with the Rock concept, I think it may be an interesting series.

I mean we've had remakes of Johny Quest, a bunch of Scooby Doos, Transformers, Masters of the Universe..,etc.

Updates happen.

And they don't happen for us.

You mean like Wildstorm did by having older versions of Wily Kit and Wily Cat as Mumm-Ra's sex slaves?

I remember them bringing up in the book that the Mutants had their 'fun' with Cheetara as she was their captive... that shocked me O.o

The problem with the He-Man revamp was that it got practically no promotion from it's parent company, so it didn't get enough popularity momentum until it was too late.

And they barely did anything with the toyline, which was frankly the most retarded move a toy company has ever done...

the fact he became the adult was the Hook

sense he felt out of place. And couldnt connect with his old friend. Those twins. It be less a big deal if it on a few years differnce

I didn't watch too much of the revamp, but the sword and the music sucked in comparison. But you're talking classic Saban/Levy work on the music there, and one of the best fantasy swords of all time. That techno sword really chafed my ass for some reason.

I liked those minis, too. Lately, I've been noticing that, as long as updates/more mature takes on classics are handled creatively, I will more than likely dig it, ie, Kingdom Hearts, Gilligan's Island, etc. etc. To an extent, even Extreme Ghostbusters.

On a tangent, I sort of cringe whenever people talk about things raping their childhood. Sure, it happens a lot, but when it's done well, it's REALLY good. Even superheroes like the FF who fought mere bank robbers, eventually had to grow in order to fight the likes of Mephisto.

On the postive side, Lion-o looks like he can't lift his sword, and looks about as strong as mumra...so it's more equal.
