If i am posting in the wrong spot let me know. I know i am double posting but i am only going to do this once. This has got me stumped.

I dont know what book it was in but i do know some of the characters, and a breif description of the happenings.
List of charactors that i know where in it. Hulk, A hooded Grey guy he could fly. and a guy dressed all in blue. I know thats all i remember. Its been a long time over 20 years.
Part of the story goes hulk gets hit in the back by a big guy with curled horns (real ugly thing) This pisses the hulk off and he is tearing a building apart looking for him for most of the book.
Guy in blue is clamped into this machine that has his hands and feet bound with metal. He is very strong so he starts pulling against the bindings and he can see dust coming from them just before that all break at once. His hands cross his chest because he was pulling so hard. And his legs come up. Its a really good scene. He says something to the nature of "If i keep straining i will finally BREAK FREE" thats when it breaks.

One of the final scenes is where the grey guy and another maybe the blue suited guy grab the horned guy by each arm and fly him into the air and slam him into a wall.
I cannt remember any thing else. I had this comic when i was a kid and the scene of the guy breaking loose is one of my greatest memories and i wish to find the book it was in.

I'm pretty certain you're looking for Defenders #50.
Hulk battles Aries, who's an embodiment of the Zodiac sign (the Ram), and who is eventually defeated by Moon Knight (grey guy with a hood) and Nighthawk (blue guy).
Try clicking on issue 50 here to see if it looks familiar. (http://www.comics.org/covers.lasso?SeriesID=2048)

You're welcome, blackbox. We love tracking down peoples' barely-remembered comics around here at the Classic Comics board. I hope you can find a copy now and reaquaint yourself with one of your fond childhood memories (which happens to be a high point issue of one of my longtime favorite series).

Just ordered every one in that collection. I had about 1000 comics when i was young. I had them in a plastic bag each and stuck in my attic. They were there for over 29years and i had a house fire and lost every one. I dont even remember most that i had. I know i had a bunch of #1's but never cared to look them up or even want to part with them.

Was i even close on the description? I have not read that comic since 78-79 almost 30 years ago. Man i feel old.

You were close enough on the description that I was able to recognize it as an issue of Defenders, and figuring the "grey guy in the hood" was Moon Knight narrowed things down (since he was only in a few issues). But I haven't read it in a long while, so don't be surprised if the story differs drastically from how you remember it. There have been quite a few occasions here where we've managed to ID comics that someone vaguely remembers, and it often turns out that they've inflated particular scenes far beyond what actually saw print! People remember scenes as going on for several pages, with full-page panels and high drama, and it turns out that part was only a single small panel in the actual comic! But that's just the way our memories work, sometimes: the parts we like tend to become exaggerated in our recollections.

Nicely put MW. And there's something beautiful in that. Memory and imagination can never really be kept apart. Remove the rigours of history, and its deeply personal stuff. Afterall, is this not what we really mean when we talk about "life imitating art?"

Hey, Blackbox,
Is there any chance they might still be there?
When a fire burns a box of comics, the outermost books are charred... but inner books, protected by plastic, frequently will escape the worst of the buring. Oh, they may have a scorched smell, and a burn pattern along the edge, making them worthless on the collector market, but to relive your memories........ priceless!

Is the building still standing, or was it a total loss?

There was a 20mph wind that day and the comics were in the attic. So the fire was super hot like a blow torch. Nothing was left. Even my kevlar helment and flak jacket from the Corps was gone.
