Hard to say. On one hand I wouldn't just abandon my family because they're humans, but I wouldn't be fighting to protect the humans who hate me, either.

I'd probably just go my own way, using my powers for personal gain. Everyone likes to think they'd be all noble, but not me. I know better. Given the ability to easily improve my station in life, I'd likely jump at the chance.

If I were forced to choose a side, I'd probably wind up with Magneto. Not "kill all the flatscans" Acolyte style, but the "ruling class mutants" idea.

I'd use them to improve my life. If that includes knocking over a banks, then so be it. But if my power forced some kind of descision(i.e. it's out of control and drawing the attention of Charles and Magneto), then I'd likely side with Magneto provided he's in his "mutant Malcolm X" mode instead of "mutant Hitler" mode.

It's a difficult question, cos the whole discrimination thing doesn't wash really. I mean mutants are discriminated against - but most of them have superpowers! It's like the kid getting bullied in the schoolyard gets handed a flamethrower. What do you think he'll do?

2) I'd be a lethal enforcer of the law, with no ties to any organizations (yeah, I'd kill the bad guys).

4) Assist poor countries that needed my aid, as long as it's not settling hostile territory wars.

It depends on what my powers were. If it was something non-offensive, like Forge's, i would make money out of it, without telling anyone. If it was telepathy, i would manipulate everybody into doing what i want, free will would be allowed to me only:D If i shoot beams out of my eyes or had superstrength, then i think i would go the Luke Cage way and become something like a Hero for Hire, you pay me and i save your life, kick the ass of the bad guys, etc. If i was a reality warper like Proteus or Jamie Braddock, then i would go crazy like them.

depends on my power? chances are, i wouldn't have a choice because of O.N.E. but, if registration isn't a factor, i'd definately go the Brotherhood route. the life of an x-man is waayyy too dangerous. and you're expected not to kill anyone while fighting. scratch that, i'd join the Nasty Boys or Mutant Liberation Front.

best way is to audition. you wait for the Brotherhood to strike somewhere. you watch from the shadows and then make sure to save one of the members before declaring that you're there to join up. they'll be in a hurry to leave at that point and won't have time to debate.

Maybe it's intelligence, but not super intelligence, just something like an extra 30 IQ points. I'd become a doctor or scientist or mathematician.

Maybe it's slowed aging, such that I age only 75% as fast as most people after puberty is complete. Assuming this happens at about 20, when I was 60 chronologically, I'd be 50 physiologically. Nice, but not worth recruiting.

If it were something that killed every person who came within 50 feet of me, I'd probably kill myself.

Joining a paramilitary group probably wouldn't be my first choice.

Depending on what kind of power it was, I'd use it to make my life and the life of those I care about more comfortable, but at the same time not doing anything immoral or illegal. That would work for like Telekenisis, teleporting, super speed, super strength, stuff like that.
More energy based powers, like Cyclops, Storm's, or Havok, I'd try to hide it if I could.
If at a time I could not control my powers or was forced to choose a side, I would sign up for Xavier's side. While I dont' really see myself being a hero and possibly dying to save a world, I see myself trying to rule it even less.

This would depend largely on the strength of my power. For the most part, I would reveal my power, but use it to benefit me.

But if I had power and strength like, Cable (Near end if Soldier X and alittle after), I might try something like he did. Try to take away all weapons and try to make the entire world feel more at peace. I'd make myself known in this case.

We have more power than we can dream of. Unfortunately most don't realize it and lead mundane lives, worrying about bills and relationship issues. The few of us who do realize often cannot control it even if the effects sometimes leak through into our normal lives. The few that realize and control it though won't make it headline news because they know most aren't ready for the ability to alter reality. We do a pisspoor job even with what little control we have over our surroundings ..

A lot of honesty here :D , but I like to think that I'm being honest here, too...

I would use my powers to fight crime in a colourful superhero outfit. Kind of like the Angel did before he joined the X-Men. I don't know about you, but to me, superheroing would be the bomb.

If the X-Men asked me to join, I would say 'heavens, yes', because then I could be trained in the use of my power and I would have comrades-in-arms.

If the Brotherhood asked me to join, I would say no. Which would result in them trying to abduct me and put mind-control devices on me, or just beat me up. Either way, it would be no boring Tuesday.

As other have stated, a great deal DOES depend on the powers you'll have. I fancy fire powers like Sunfire's or Firestar's, so I think it would be a challenge to teach myself how to save lives without accidentally burning down the neighbourhood for inexperience.

If I'd cause disasters, the X-Men would be pretty convenient to have around.

Well, I would definitely want Telepathy and possibly Telekinesis(Or the power of Perfection, such as Monet). I have a few scenarios so bare with me.

If I had the psionic powers:
I'd probably use them for self gain. I always wanted to be famous and I'd use my powers to gain more wealth. I'd also have people I could always trust.

Along with the personal gain, I'd most likely become a super-villain and make sure that those like me rise to absolute power. I'd make my first act doing extremely good deeds and gaining peoples trust and work on my plan from there.

Or, I could abandon my plan and actually become a super-hero along with whatever team is calling themselves the Avengers or what have you and become everything I still ever wanted. I'd have fame, wouldn't have to hide who I was, and I do get a paycheck don't I?

With any other power I'd probably just become a Super-Hero right off the bat. Other top abilities are Super-Speed, and Cryokinesis aka Ice Manipulation.
