I know, I know, this (http://www.amazon.com/Twin-Peaks-Second-Season/dp/B000M3439E/sr=1-1/qid=1167038149?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&tag2=aintitcoolcoa-20) is where things went downhill. But for the morbidly curious after that cliffhanger, it gives closure. Course then there's the season finale to contend with once more.

I loved it when it was first screened, but I've no idea how I'd appreciate it know, especially all the Arthurian stuff just randomly thrown in there.

Still that last encounter with Bob....brrrr.

I'll pick it up. Twin Peaks is one of my favorite shows, even if the later episodes were a mess.

Oooh yeah, I'll pick this up. Been waiting years for it.

The last episode was never meant to be the "last episode." It was just a cliffhanger for the third season. I think the biggest letdown was Windom Earle being taken out so easily by Killer Bob. After all that build-up, and then Earle is axed too easily.

Here are some Twin Peaks stuff to ponder:

1) Ever notice there are no children in Twin Peaks? There are adults and many teenagers, but during the entire show, we never see any children there. Why?

2) That log the Log Lady carries around and speaks to....it's from the entrance to the Black Lodge. The trees that line the entrance (seen in the final episodes), that is where that log comes from. She is definitely speaking to......someone !

I was all set to buy this (I've been waiting forever) until I saw this on the Digital Bits today:

We've got a bit of an update for you today on CBS/Paramount's plans for David Lynch's Twin Peaks TV series on DVD in 2007. As most of you should know by now, the long-awaited Twin Peaks: The Second Season is already set to hit DVD on 4/10. Our sources are telling us that this release is designed for those who may already have Season One (released back in 2001 by Artisan/Republic) and the unaired pilot episode (released on DVD in Japan and available only as an import) on disc. However, for those of you who are patient and want it all in one shot... we're told to expect CBS/Paramount to announce a Twin Peaks: The Complete Series box set for release later in 2007 that contains both seasons AND the pilot episode, PLUS lots of newly-produced extras. Watch for details on the box set to be announced in the next few months.

Stay tuned...

Unless they plan on releasing the pilot episode by itself on DVD, I think I'll just want for this Complete Series set and sell my Season 1 DVD. I own the pilot in its extended movie form on VHS and its a pain in the ass having to stop it at the correct point (before all the other stuff is added). I've waited a couple years for this release, I can wait another couple months. Especially if the price is reasonable.

I love the crazy Pilot Episode/Movie!

SPOILER

After ninety minutes, after never having been seen before, Bob jumps out at the end and says "It was me the whole time" and the Coop shoots him. The end.

END SPOILER

I've never seen Twin Peaks before (I was only like 11 when it originally aired) but I've always been curious about it. For the right price, I may just pick up the whole series set on DVD.

So instead of having too few Twin Peaks DVD sets, suddenly we have too many... *sits on hands and waits for complete set*

It's worth it. As much as people bitch about some of the later episodes, the "Who Killed Laura Palmer?" arc is great television.

I didn't want to wait for the Complete Series set in the Fall, so I bought S2. I'm very impressed with the AV quality, even if there's no DTS like in Artisan's S1 set. The extras are light (brief interviews with some of the castmembers and a couple of directors), but I didn't buy the set for the extras. S2 was a tumultuous season (the episodes immediately following the Laura Palmer investigation are truly mediocre), but the "chess" game between Cooper and Windom Earle and the surreal Lynch-directed final episode are excellent.
