Well apparently my work thinks so. hellboy.com is now blocked by the firewall under the catagory "Extreme". The only other time I've ever even seen that catagory is when I tried to go to Sinn Féin's website. Just thought I'd share.

Extreme?!?!? Ouch...

In my opinion its a little extreme that they blocked it.

Wow...what a bummer. I have no idea why they'd think this was extreme. But then again, my old work blocked some of the weirdest stuff too.

could be a filter blocking out urls by 'curse' words 'hell' being one of those (f**k, sh**, a**, etc...) ??? just a guess. Either that or the amount of time they find you there instead of 'working' they found extreme ;)

Crazy! Thanks for letting me know--

I wonder if it blocks http://hellboyanimated.typepad.com/ because it has the word hellboy in it too?

Lame...

But since Hellboy is one word, would it also block out something like, say, Hellokitty.com for example?

Just curious.

Oddly enough I can get to http://hellboyanimated.typepad.com and www.hellokitty.com. Although the later was very difficult to type.

damn! thats so stupid.

When i was younger, I was on the spawn forum for a short while and I was talking to someone about Princess Mononoke and I wrote about Ashitaka, the main character but then when I posted it, it censored it like so: "A****aka"

When I worked in a corporate environment, sites that were far from questionable were regularly blocked. I'd have to go to the engineers and ask them to get unblocked and explain why. They complied, for the most part. But they'd have to manually remove the site from a list that they subscribed to that automatically blocks sites.

Lame.

That is pretty harsh. Hellokitty is at least twice as extreme as Hellboy. Especially that evil penguin.

The Spawn forums are still that way.

Blocking Hellboy.com is pretty silly, for sure.

"Rise up, gather round, rock this place to the ground. Burn it up, let's go for broke, watch the night go up in smoke...rock on, rock"

Damn you Google !!!!! ...I thought this sight actually took me to Hell to summon the devil and do awful things to small animals, children and the elderly.

Go figure...an EXTREME site about comic books and such...
The Apocalypse MUST be near...

Ahh...sarcasm and coffee in the morning...delicious !

Maybe they removed it because it's a forum website. Thats what the military does, they block all the message boards.

Man, I was only 7 when the 80s ended, I feel so out of the loop...the only things I remember about 80s music was Flock of Seagulls and Gloria Estefan.

We got a like for Iron Maiden and the Flash between us...i particularly like Somewhere in Time (especially Alexander the Great). Oh, plus my daughter wanted a toy at our last visit to the local comic shop..we decided to buy her the JLA Flash paper holder, not really a toy, but it's what she wanted.

That is awesome! Hopefully my future spawn will feel the same way about the Flash.

And sometime in Febuary I'll have a picture of my newest Flash item. Something Rachel got for me. It's a jaw dropper.
