I know, (some) girls can't draw weapons very well. I'm no exception. My brother can draw guns and cars. I can draw people. So, these are "practice". I want a girl with a gun eventually but I haven't decided on the angle or type of gun yet.

And apparently, I suck at swords too. Gonna needs lots of pratice on weapons.

Nice job there, Mary. A couple things I'd change, though:

In the first picture, her head seems to be too far to her left, I think. It's almost like it's projecting out of her shoulder and not her neck.

And yeah, that sword looks like a partially-peeled banana. The basket coming down from the hilt could use some work. The blade's pretty short, too.

Great poses on the chicks with the guns, though.

New art, old art, cartoons, doodles, sketches, finished works, etc. I figured I'd start a miscellaneous art thread to keep from starting a bunch of random smaller threads. I'm just combining everything whether it's new stuff or not. One of the reasons for this is my constant "artist's block". It can be a real struggle for me to stay "inspired" artistically, so sometimes, I like to look at old artwork I've done to try and keep me going on newer stuff.

Anyway, this is just some old stuff I did back in highschool. They are also the only portraits I've ever done. I think these are dated circa 1990. I was in the 10th grade back then. (Man, I'm getting old)

Actually, I think this one is even older then 1990. Maybe mid eighties? I believe it's my great, great, great grandfather.

Thanks dude. I was looking at some of my old stuff last night and decided "what the hell, I've got a scanner now, might as well scan it into the computer."

Sometimes, the older stuff gives me ideas for newer stuff when I'm stuck in a rut.

Great Thread, Nikita!

I Love seeing such a passion for drawing. My fave is the Taj mahal. Probably one of my favorite places on Earth. Cool rendition!

Keep posting new stuff! Cheers!~~~Patrick

Thanks dude. I used to doodle a lot during class when I was bored. I think I drew that during a history class if I remember correctly. (Ah, the irony)

As soon as I get some newer stuff done, I'll throw it in here.

Ed Cunard's tatoo ideas inspired me to draw this today.

Ha! Crap, you're right. The one chick looks like she's holding a banana. LOL. I'm still working on ideas for this one. I got a new art program that JadeDragon recommended and it looks like something I can finally handle since Photoshop and Illustrator are too complicated and overwhelming for me. I'll post more updates as I progress on this idea.

You focused on the gun way too much on this one.

These are not really, really rough sketches, they're good sketches. You undersell them. I enjoyed looking at them the guns are great and the style is all your own.I was expecting really rough pencil scratchings but they're well rendered. Cool.

I had two threads going...one was called "My Miscellaneous Art" and one was "Really, Really Rough Sketches". I asked one of the mods in here to combine them so that I wouldn't have so many art threads. (I already have my "Nikita's puter art" thread in there too)

Anyway, they were combined under the title of the one thread. (thanks again Jaye!)

That way, I can post all of my "non-computer" artwork in one thread. Thanks for the compliments by the way. :)

Well, I whipped these two out tonight just for practice with my new art kit.

This one is tempra paint:

And then this is pastel:

Sorry, crappy webcam pics. My digital camera broke.

Anyway, these were just for pratice. I did them on canvas.

I made this for a friend at work as a new house warming gift. She likes ocean themed stuff. I bought a plain picture frame, and glued glass shells and stones on the inside of it. Then I put shiny glitter fish stickers around the edges. And for the picture itself, I put more glitter fish stickers on a black background. I like to make "crafty" stuff sometimes.
