Best good wishes to you, Dear Mistress, on this day that we
celerbrate your birth.
May your heart grow in forgiveness and
your memory slip in matters of frosting so
as not to carry a grudge into another year.:D
Hope there is much CAKE and BEER.

Happy Birthday!!!
I sent your cake by ox;
it may take a while to get there.;)

CAKE by ox. Most excellent!!!!! Yes, I've had a great day - and you guys make me feel disgracefully smushy inside, which doesn't do my Windswept and Interesting rep any good at all, I'll have you know!!!! I may even have to have a group hug. Thank you, sweethearts - I reckon I'll have to hug the crap out of you all if we ever get together again (HELLBOY II????)
My prezzies ... books, of course ...
On the Apparitions at Gray's Court by Dr. Peter Hall & illustrated by Meggan Kehrli. It's as creepy as hell. Great stuff.
Weapon - a visual History of Arms & Armour, cons. ed. Richard Holmes, in association with the Royal Armouries Museum (I can finally say with confidence that I know the difference between a Kilij and a Shamshir - it's all to do with the blade design). Plus, I love weaponry books with lots of pictures in them.
Special Effects - The History and Technique by Richard Rickett. A whopping great coffee table book which knocked my socks off with delight, because it explains to someone with absolutely no comprehension about all this stuff (that's me) about how travelling matts work and so on. Plus it has bits about Hellboy in it.
AND ... I had an extra present when a little Spanish indie movie got 6 Oscar nominations.
It has been a good day.
Thank you all.
HM

D'oh! Missed it! HB!
Note: 'HB' is an acronym for 'Happy Birthday' and in no way is meant to reference 'HellBoy' as yesterday (and what the hell, today if you want) is your day and not the property of some whinging, sunburned spook-chaser. "Im just a regular guy!"...give it up buddy! Were you the crown princess of the apocolypse, I'm sure you wouldn't complain. As such, I nominate you, Mrs. Hellmistress, for Crown Princess of the Apocolypse. HB!

Happy belated birthday, Helen! I'm glad it was such a good one. :)
If you come to visit me, now I know that a trip to the Glenbow is a safe bet since they have a surprisingly large weapons collection (http://www.glenbow.org/collections/museum/military/arms.cfm), including Canada's largest collection of Japanese weaponry.

Thank you all once again for all the love!!!!
Tad - the shirt's doing just fine, thankin' you kindly. Looks good, causes lots of curious comments, and affords me a lot of braggin' potential. *smirks smugly* ... "Oh that??? I have original artwork by Tad Stones - he's the supervising Director/Producer of HELLBOY ANIMATED, y'know ... nice fellow. Oh, and DARKWING DUCK was all his. Yes, really!! Wears a mean shirt, too."
Maija - expect me to camp on your doorstep next time I'm up your way, and then see me banging on the door of the museum as daylight breaks. I'm so there!!! They have a superb Japanese collection, and as for their Ottoman jabby-pointy stuff ... there IS a heaven and it's in the Glenbow. Sigh.
Absenter - seeing as I am a lady of a certain age, perhaps I could forego being the Crown Princess of the Apocalypse. However, Dowager Queen would sound pretty good, don't you think? Seein' as I'm Windswept, Interesting and now somewhat Venerable?? I'm past the MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! stage (the larynx doesn't work quite as well as it used to), but I can arch an eyebrow and point menacingly, treating all before me as the low-life scum they are and nothing more than insects there to do my bidding. How's that???

You are certainly welcome to come inside; you don't have to camp on my doorstep (especially since I live in an apartment block and my neighbors will be annoyed that you're blocking the entrance). :)
C'mon over!
