I was on Marvel's official website looking at the wallpapers (as it's the most reliable source of high quality images when working in Photoshop) and I saw this! Looks kind of mediocre and VERY symbolic, but I figured might as well share the news.

And here at Marvel.com (http://marvel.com/wallpaper/?utm_campaign=front+page+tracking&utm_source=wallpaper+nav+link&utm_medium=nav+link&utm_content=wallpaper).
I suppose I kind of like it; I'm not too crazy about the pupils or hairstyle lol but it works, and it's good that those are the ONLY things I can complain about.
Here's an idea: Seeing that the planet's exploding rays of light are coming from the inside, perhaps it's more of a Piotr trying to contain the destruction as opposed to him causing it! I think that'd be cool and very Whedon.

Lol I'm really quite confused as to whether I like it or not. I loooove Cassaday now, as opposed to despising him earlier, and while I can't say anything BAD about it, it's not as fabulous as I'd like it to be. But that's just me being picky --- it's a spectacular cover, just not to my tastes.

It's probably the variant, isn't it? Aren't all the issues in the final arc supposed to have a regular cover and a variant focusing on a character?

No. This is the regular version. The variant is like the Scott variant for #19. It's a full standing image of the character. We saw recently what the full image would look like when put together.

Same, I think that cover is absolutely horrible but his interiors are usually fantastic. I hate how he's changed Pete's hairstyle in human form though...it's so generic...and why then, does it change to his old style in metal form?!
What's the deal with the variants then? Is it luck of the draw? I had the Cyke variant sent to me in my monthly delivery.

That cover's just meh. I really don't like Cassaday's work, but I do think his covers are better than his interiors. I like the team shot.

I'm not overly impressed with the cover, but it's okay and fits the story. To me Cassaday's covers have usually been rather mediocre (except for AXM 4 and 6's covers), but I like his interiors.

Are you kids kidding?? This cover is FREAKIN AWESOME!!!! Colossus on a cover--smashing an entire world!! He looks "unstoppable" and I'm in extasy! Finally, it looks like Colossus is getting some star treatment. This is making me feel better that this whole "destroyer of Breakworld" arc may pay off in a big way for Colossus fans and won't be just some cheap plot point about the legacy virus that has Kitty come out as the X-men's savior and hero in the end.
I want to see more Colossus covers!!! Thank you John and Josh!

Scott looks better on that variant IMO. I'd buy that cover over one simply cropped from the group shot.
Makes me mad that all these delays are happening/were happening if it means Cassaday was drawing group shots and variant covers instead of doing his work. Whatever though, Marvel's a business, and from that viewpoint they made the right decision.
I like this Scott cover though. I definitely want to see the rest of the team's, 'cuz Cassaday draws a glamorous Emma sometimes.

Actually it's set post Civil War as has already been confirmed. Mostly due to aspects that occur during it's final storyline. And Astonishing is the only one ignoring the rest of the books. Stuff from Astonishing has been being refrenced in the other books. And the other books have done a good job of respecting each other.

Well, yeah. But compared to some other comic art and other x-men it looks rushed. And as he's inking his own work he must really rush.
Back to the cover, obviously the Colossus that is in the book is not really Colossus and is a plant by Ord.
