RT: What's coming up in "X-Factor?"

PD: We have the ongoing story where Jamie is going around and recollecting his various stray dupes, and we are having a chance to address the Agent of SHIELD that is a Jamie Madrox. There is an issue where a dupe has become a minister and has a whole life set up, and what kind of impact taking this guy away will have on everyone around them.

Then we have Siren and Monet going to Paris to get away from everything for awhile, and instead running into anti-mutant hysteria and get sucked into the middle of it.

And then we are embarking on a storyline involving a group of former mutants who form a terrorist cell and I am calling it the X-Cell. Years ago the big theory about AIDS was that is was a disease that the government had created in labs and had escaped. And there is a group of mutants who are convinced that the government is behind M-Day and is responsible for getting rid of all but 198 mutants. And now they are going after the government and want them to undo M-Day and restore the power of mutants. :eek:

I really like this idea because after a huge fallout like the near extinction of a species, I would've expected a major backlash from former mutants along tima ago.

But my real question: who do you think is going to lead X-Cell?! Will it be nameless, faceless mutants or will there be some mutants with recognizable names and faces that we'll see? PAD doesn't say anything more about the situation, but it's got me a little giddy thinking about some old faces that may or may not return.

One person who I wish we could see is Dani Moonstar but would she really suspect the government that much? Callisto or Marrow maybe?!!:eek:

I already like this X-Cell concept! What do you guys think? Looking forward to it? Any guesses to the members of X-Cell????:confused:

I thought it was going to be X-MAD. Or is that different? Anyway, I think that's all kinds of cool. I love these types of stories and the fact that PAD is doing it makes it all that much better.

Yeah, the solicits say that it's X-MAD. Sounds good, but I'm still just not feeling X-Factor all that much. I'll stick around for the time being, as I'll have to get it for the crossover anyway.

As for speculation for its members, I think Dani Moonstar and Callisto sound like good calls.

Dani may be pissed, but I just don't see her going terrorist, unless she's undercover again.

Callisto enjoyed those tentacles... she could be a solid choice.

X-Cell sounds so cool! Like a competant Gene Nation or something.

I definitely expect Callisto, maybe Marrow. A couple of fan favorite Morlocks and background characters too, I suppose. Not really Dani, though, for me it'd be too out of character.

They didn't leave her high and dry. She didn't even bother to call them when she lost her powers. That's her problem, not theirs. Dani has more reason to be pissed given what Emma did to her.

Maybe, but I expect something MORE from Jubilee in 07, especially after the hype Joe Q has been setting it up for.

Dani's got more reason to be pissed at the X-Men and is far more of a natural leader than Jubes, plus she has experience with SHIELD and the MLF. Not to mention she's just a better character in general. If any former X-Man were leading the cell, I'd expect it to be her.

Dani needs to be doing something! She's a great character. She should join SWORD just so she can be a foil to Agent Brand.

Danielle Moonstar would fit in X-Factor; however, I would have an ongoing subplot of having both her Asgardian Valkyrie powers linked to her seemingly dormant mutant powers. Over time, Dani would be subconsciously manifesting her illusion powers, but she herself would not be aware of her situation until she could not ignore the problem anymore. This would be a two year period subplot until it became the primary storyline. Essentially, I would restore Dani's powers eventually leading them back to Asgard & Hela...

I think Dani would be interesting. I would expect Marrow to be involved considering her anger towards sapiens in general, though I did not read Generation M, so I don't know what her character is like now. Does anyone know if that picture with the article of the woman with the red cloak is connected with the story?

I highly doubt Marrow will be part of the group even thought she would be perfect as former childsoldier and terrorist.

Mainly because of following reasons:

1. She is NOT depowered:
Yes she is POWERED and just for info, screw Mike Marts comment (nothing against Mike in general).

If she really lost her healing factor (which is the reason for the bone growth) but kept those bones in her skin and muscles, it would mean that she is as good as DEAD.
Mainly because of possible infections the bones could create because of leaving behind lots of places to infect. Its open skin. Lots of people already died after having broke theire legs or arms. Not because of bloodlose or the damged bone but because of the mass of infections a outbroken bone creates.

Also with all the bone mass pressing on internal organs and the backbone she would be unable to move and her organs would be squished. If powered it doesn't matters because the bones are shifting.

So if she would lost her powers she would be just as screwed as Chamber.

Yet she is fully able to walk around. Also she said that she tried to fight Ghoul but came to late. Judging from the fact that she carried no visible knifes or other weapons in Generation M it can only mean that she still fights with her bones.
Also why should Irving be powered and Marrow not and why would the Morlocks call her for help is she would be depowered.
Sorry if this goes off topic but i simply hate the fact that everyone keeps calling her depowered even thought no official printed source ever said that she is depowered, just two senteces by someone who is not at Marvel anymore.

So as long as its not printed and with the little facts i stated above i say she is still powered!
(I simply don't want to create a thread extra for this).

2. IF the weapon X series is still canon (hopefully not) i think Marrow has more than enough from all the terrorist stuff.
It ruined her live once and it ruined everything for her twice. I think no one would be so stupid to join this again.

3. As ex-X-men and with the knowledge about the goverment which she showed in Generation M i doubt that she would belive the theorys about the goverment having created M-day.

After all she is one of the few who know about High Evolutionarys depowered Satelit so she knows how Mutants can be depowered in wide scale.
Also it means she knows that the X-men would do something against that.

So thats why i belive Marrow would not be part of X-cell.

However Casllisto on the other could be part of the X-cell.
1. She was involved in Terrorist acts working with Marrow which means experinces in such things.
2. She is clearly depowered unlike Generation M for Marrow, Son of M made this clear.
3. He sudden overpowering and the resulting coma could have made her paranoid.
4. She never trusted the X-men and the goverment.

I think those two could still work for the story like this:

Callisto goes in the sewers and takes the depowered Morlocks with her. Marrow tries to stop them but is unable because she neither can harm the Morlocks nor Callisto.
So she runs to X-factor to warn them about something comming up.

This would be two birds with one stone. The X-cell get members and Marrow can make a cameo finaly calling her powered in canon (finaly clearing that up).

God i hope PAD will do something like this.

You should send this post to Marvel maybe. For some reason, I think they have a plan for Marrow. Why would they not come out and give us a full explanation already right? They're planning something...

I'm not going to do a "woe is me, I'm a Marrow fan" thing, but I am not optimistic.

Coolness (especially for Tattoo, how I love her!). I think this is a perfect time to at the very least give some of these characters some kind of a send-off so I could sport a gloriously drawn by Pablo Raimondi avatar starring my favorite Q-List character.
