Now that you mention it, I caught an episode, for the first time, whilst on the elliptical machine at the gym, yesterday. While it was the first time seeing the show, it wasn't the first time I'd seen the girls. That was more than a year ago, during AFI, at a screening of Bullets Over Hollywood.

A gaggle of girls, dirty blonde to brunette, preceded the entrance of 3 peroxide blondes, with Hef between the 2nd and 3rd, followed by more dirty blonde to brunettes, older models, it seemed. It's always odd to see a septuagenarian in a huddle of fake boobs, and watching people fall over themselves to get near them was even stranger.

The show I saw yesterday, just seemed really sad. I think the girls know that they have an extremely limited shelf-life, and not only are they competing with each other; but they've got to be in the best possible position, when Hef ushers in the new crop. Watching him give one a picture of a mobster - because he went best with her - just reinforces how bizarre the whole arrangement is, and I hope that whatever money they're making, is invested wisely, because when this ride ends, it's not going to be gentle!

if you want to know what he responding to

made a topic where I said this

Is it or me or is an aura of sadness in Girls next door

seem like they are a bit crazy and pathetic

And holding back Jelousy and regret and secretly hate each other

I just watch a couple of episodes for the first time in a row

guess the topic wasnt detailed enough. It cool. The one I saw was the party episode where they had a casblanca theme party and they had to compete for Hef's affection. Then you saw the older playmates and it seem sadder.

Am I the only one who can't tell the three women apart? They all have the same orange tan, gigantic breasts, radioactive-blonde hair, and vacant smile.

I've caught a couple episodes and read accounts from former Playboy Bunnies. From what I've heard the arrangement is rather sad and awkward--it's rather hard to imagine adult women being subject to a 9:30 curfew in this day and age.

I think Hef just likes living in a fantasy world he created over 50 years ago and hasn't been able to face reality...but, of course, when you have the ability ($$$$$) to do it, why the hell not.

As for the girls, I agree...I hope they're getting paid well. Or at least get a good chunk of money when it's over.

Oddly enough, my wife is the one that watches this, not me.

Me and my girlfriend both watch this pretty regularly. Its pretty funny. They do some sight gags and make fun of the girls, but in a fairly nice way with the way they edit it and put in thier little sound effects and such. My girlfriend thinks that Hef is more like a grandfather to the girls then anything else. She says he likes them in a grandfatherly way which I can see. They girls must get some sort of allowance and maybe make money on the side with thier ads, calendar's and such. Hef bought Bridgette a brand new porche on one episode so he must take care of them pretty decent. Not to mention they pretty much have full run of the mansion and all its' services.

I watch this on the weekends on STAR! up here and I have to say Bridget has the most brains between the three.

Kendra (the youngest one), holy hell she's immature and stupid. I don't know how many times I've wanted to slap her.

Holly just amazes me how long she's survived being so clueless.
