The short answer:
No.
I mean sure the animation is pretty good, but the writing (plot and dialogue) was
pretty subpar. Especially, when compared to a show like Justice League Unlimited. Honestly, Marvel's track-record's really been hit-and-miss with regards to animated adaptations.

Opinion on the board was split pretty evenly. The people that hated them, hated them a LOT. The people that liked them thought they were generally okay, but there was no swooning enthusuasm.
My wife and I enjoyed them okay. Julie's a good test case for this sort of thing because she doesn't bring decades of fan baggage -- excuse me, I mean knowledge to the party.
Don't pay full price. We got ours used from an online dealer for a total expenditure of about eight dollars. If I'd been out twenty-five retail the day of release or something I'd probably have been a lot more annoyed. As it is we found them moderately entertaining, and we enjoyed the extras with Marvel artists and writers talking about the different Avengers runs over the years.

I saw UA 1 before reading the Ultimates trade. Prior to the trade I thought it was very well done. After reading the book, I could understand some of the plot changes the writers had made (for the sake of time and such), but overall I still think the movie was generally ok.
The second movie however, I wasn't too excited about. Just something about having the Chitauri come back again didn't sit well with me. They should've gone another route with the plot I think.
