"Past and present collide in this epic adventure that reveals the origin of Iron Man. While raising the ruins of a long buried Chinese kingdom, billionaire inventor Tony Stark digs up far more than he bargained for. He unleashes an age-old prophecy that foretells the resurrection of the Mandarin, the emperor of China's darkest and most violent dynasty. In order to confront the destructive force, Tony creates an armored suit infused with high-tech weaponry. To stop the evil that he himself has raised from the earth, Tony must become his greatest invention ever -- Iron Man! The newly born champion must travel to the four corners of the earth to battle the Mandarin's henchmen, the Elementals -- four magical warriors who harness the power of the elements -- earth, water, wind, and fire -- with deadly chemistry. But is the Iron Knight, as he his known in the prophecy, strong enough to defy fate and turn back the malevolent forces hell-bent on earth's destruction?"

It looks pretty cool. I posted about it a while ago.

There's also a boxed set of this and Ultimate Avengers 1 & 2 that comes with an Iron Man bust.

The animation looks great. I just hope his origin story doesn't get shot to hell with all this "Elemental" mumbo jumbo.

Looking forward to it though.

Well, I can understand them not wanting to keep the Arms Dealer origins.

Plus tying his origins in with Mandarin makes it a much more exciting story. :)

I saw it advertised, in Previews I think, as Ultimate Avengers 3: The Invincible Iron Man. Is this accurate?

Yeah. It's not even the same continuity from everything that I've read.

I'll probably get it at Best Buy. Only $12.99 and more of the cards that came with Ultimate Avengers and Ultimate Avengers 2. They were pretty neat. Can't wait for Dr. Strange. :D

Whens the doctor strange movie come out? Summer?
It's currently set for August. Hopefully it comes out a few months earlier. :D

The Invincible Iron Man movie, due on DVD on Jan. 23, will contain a preview of the fourth Marvel/Lionsgate animated film, Doctor Strange.

Supervising director Frank Paur and screenwriter Greg Johnson return from Iron Man for Doctor Strange. Like Iron Man, Doctor Strange is an origin story.

"Our goal is to continue to raise the bar with each of these movies, and we've met our goal," Marvel Studios' Eric S. Rollman told The Continuum during a recent visit to the MLG studio in West Toluca Lake, Calif.

"The movie is spectacular. We worked with Answer Studio in Tokyo. Primarily that's the group that used to be Disney Tokyo, and this is their first non-Disney project, so they poured their best resources into it."

The preview is actually the opening scene of the film. It involves Mordo and a group of mystics taking on a monster. Although magically masked to the citizens of the city, the battle is seen by Stephen Strange, not yet a sorcerer.

"Itıs really a different kind of movie," Rollman said. "He's certainly not your traditional super-hero. He doesn't have those characteristics. He's a sorcerer."

Doctor Strange is targeted for an August release.

I checked my notes... yeah, it's not connected at all.

Newsarama: Bruce Timm and his team set the gold standard for comic book to cartoon adaptations. A couple of years ago they did a great job of linking all their DC cartoons together – if even loosely - from Batman the Animated Series to Superman to Batman Beyond and then they tied them all together in Justice League Unlimited. How tight is the continuity in these Marvel movies?

Craig Kyle: Each film is connected only if they are in the same run. Ultimate Avengers 1 and 2 are obviously connected. But Iron Man is its own film. The only connection to the Ultimate run is that we have Marc Worden voicing Tony Stark in all three films.

I dunno, I'm a little iffy on this. I'll most likely rent it first and see if it's good before buying.

I'd have to watch the UA films again, but did they give Stark a specific reason for being Iron Man? Otherwise, I guess it could serve as a prequel. You do see the UA IM armor briefly, as well as a couple other suits.

As for the animation, it's about on par with the UA movies, it has that weird soft edge to it. But the armor stuff is all cel shaded CGI.

I saw previews of the Iron Man and Doctor Strange animated films on that Ultimate Avengers 2 DVD and they both looked pretty kickass. The whole mystic angle of the Iron Man film with the whole Chinese mystical forces and villains sounds pretty damn fun.

I think the best one will be Doctor Strange. It looked pretty crazy with gory images, like a great anime.

I ordered it from an American site. I should have it next week along with Super Mario Brothers The Movie... not bad for £12 (Mario is a crap movie but I loved it as a kid).

Can't wait to see this one. Hopefully it's improved on the last movie, as that one did on the first.
