Mr bedard, I just wanted to thank you for your extended run ( over 40 issues ) on Exiles. I have gone back & purchaes the 4 out of the first 6 trades and your stuff while very different hold up very well. I still need to purchase volumes 8 & 9 so i have your complete collection.
A brief reveiw

Timebreakers
This TPB changes everything with some very cool twists and brings back Hyperion as the number one Villan of this series without a real villan. The battle between The exiles & Hyperion is amazing ( espec. as how in this series he was done much more as a duplicate superman but evil ). The 2nd part done on the monsterworld was just as enjoyable, I love Fing Fang Foom, to bad Lee & Kirby did not bring him into the Marvel Universe
Jims art was very sold all the way through
8 out of 10

Worlds Tour ( all 14 issues )
This TPB is sheer Joy
Tony & Paul back together again, never dreamt ot would happen
69-71 House of M
Made me feel in 3 issues what house of M was all about
great intro of the Villan for the series
Cant believe what you did to Mimic, loved it
Pauls art fantastic, man he can draw

72-74 New U
Great to see Starbrand, DP7, NightMask and Justice was just to cool
Proteus done to perfection
Cant believe what you did to Justice, loved it ( would have loved to see him join the team though )
not a fan of Longshot, would have rather seen a new U addittion to the team.
Pauls art even better

73-74-2099
not my favorite, was never a real fan of this universe
Loved the way Hulk 2099 was done
I was hoping to see x-men 2099
cant believe what ou did to Hulk 2099, excellent
Jims art was ok, but down from Paul

75-76-SS
Good Battle, loved seeing the original SS, but they are getting a tad overkill.
glad to see timebreakers referenced.
Liked the addittion of Power Princess to the team

77-78-Future Imperfect
loved these 2 issues
Hulk vs Hulk , great
art fantastic
Morph taken by proteus, hated it/ loved it

79-84
never liked the heroes reborn world,
did not like the young allies
poor work by Jim, esp. coming off the hulk MP
not sure how I feel about the way it ended with Morph.
found the next few issues lacking. ( sorry )

85-89
ended up on a classic note,
loved this
Wolverine story was to cool, did not like inclusion of Zombi wolv.
Your portrayl of Cosmic Marvel ( big G, and SS ) reminded me of Negation and why you should be doing Cosmic
Thought SS VS Glad. should have lasted longer
would have liked better descrip. of what Cosmic power did for Saber tooth
I though using the Cosmic power to fix Morph would have been a great cure.
The last issue was very touching, great way to end your run
Pauls art was fantastic on 85-88

Overall I give
8 out of 10
Negation ( 8.25 out of 10 )-had to thrown that in their.

Thank you for a great run and I will be looking to see what DC has you doing

Thanks for the in-depth review -- I really enjoyed it. I gotta agree, I didn't exactly knock it out of the park at the end of World Tour. I've said it before, but I should've ended it quicker. Also agree that the Silver Surfer story should've run about an issue longer. But it was still fun to do.

I also would like to do more cosmic stuff, but I have a few things heading in that direction over at DC which I hope you'll check out. It's too early to go into detail, but I'm sure there will be announcements before long!

Thanks for all the kind words and insightful commentary,

Tony Bedard

You may have thought it needed to be an issue longer, but I think it was the best story of your run.:)

Your welcome tony, Joe, my choice would be either Timebreakers ( battle with Hyperion was amazing and it was the issue that changed everthing ) or the 2 part Future Imperfect story, Paul's love for the Hulk was evident.........

Ps Tony, do you know if Paul will be doing both FF & Exiles , I remember back when he was doing Negation reading that he could do 2 monthlies

ps, I meant 9.25 on Negation, it was near perfect as a unbroken 35 issue tale ( not including 2 war issues......................

Marvel's loss is DCs Gain, good luck

Hope it has something to do with New Gods, I have always loved the concept & it would be perfect for you.....

Couldn't you just drop us a tiny hint? I hope whatever it is, it's monthly and it has something to do with Vril Drox. Or maybe a DC version of Exiles now that we know the ********** still ******. Lord knows I need my Bedard fix after the trainwreck that was Exiles #90.

Anyway, I still remain your biggest fan (although I am still holding a grudge for you not making Justice a regular member during the World Tour).

Cheers,

- Blake
