Does anyone know who the artist for this one-off was? Most (unconfirmed, it seems) internet sources cite Mel Crawford as artist but I have been contacted, by way of an feature on my website, by someone who things Jack Sparling was also involved, either as penciller and/or inker.

Looking at Crawford's style for some strips, and then Sparling, I'm now more inclined to believe the latter - anyone know for certain?

Also, while George Wilson is universally believed to be cover artist on this title and the first three 'Supercar' titles, does anyone know who did the cover of the fourth and last? I had an inking it may have been Ray S Osrin, who did the interior artwork, but this is also speculation.

Interestingly, the current issue of the Fanderson club magazine lists Wally Wood as the artist of all four Supercar covers -- which seems a little unlikely.

Who's Who lists Paul S. Newman as the writer and Mel Crawford pencilling and inking.

Scott Shaw! featured this Gold Key one-shot in an ODDBALL COMICS column from June 2005:

He also identifies the artist as Mel Crawford, and adds this tidbit:

ODDBALL Factoid - Cartoonist Mel Crawford drew another adaptation of a Gerry Anderson "Supermarionation" TV series for Gold Key - namely, SUPERCAR!

Crawford most certainly did not draw the Supercar titles - some of Ray Osrin's original art for this title is known to exist and is clearly marked as his.

Hence, in the absence of Wally Wood himself, my contacting two WW experts to clarify if this was indeed the case. They couldn't identify who the artist was but were adamant it was not Wood. This was subbed into Marsha's article, with her blessing, and those of Bhob Stewart and Jim Vadeboncoeur Jr:
