I was at my parents' house this evening helping put Christmas decorations away when I stumbled across a tree skirt with 'Giordano' and '1986 Giordano Art Limited' or some such. My dad's going to get a picture so I can link here, but I was wondering if it was the work of Dick Giordano. I tried googling some terms but came up with nothing, so now I'm turning to the Classics folks for an assist. Anyone heard of anything like this?

My google-fu is pretty good - I turned up some references to Giordano Art Ltd. as a design and art-licensing company based in Little Neck, NY. The CEO is George Valentino, and the company's biggest product right now is a character called Sad Sam. Searching on that name, I found out that Sad Sam was created by Joseph Giordano, and his sons Robert and Gregory are in the firm as well. They used to have a website - www.giordanoart.com - but it no longer exists. You might be able to see it at a place like archive.org or zoominfo.com.

So, no connection to Dick other than a possible family relationship. Is Dick still a partner in Continuity Associates? I imagine that would take up most of his time.

No. He left Continuity back in the late 70s or early 80s when he became a big wheel at DC. He currently lives in Florida.

Thanks, gang. It's kinda what I figured, but wanted to ask just in case. I'm not all that familiar with Giordano's pencils, and I know most of you are so I figured it didn't hurt to ask.

You all are the tops!
