Time for a Favorite Foods Thread.

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l159/6are54/pancakes.jpg

I don't know about you guys, but I LIKE FOOD. :p

Only, being a vegetarian, sometimes, I need that extra kick of flavor and energy, so when I do, I reach for the following items, which I am crazy over and I would kill for:
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l159/6are54/favfoods.jpg

-Try the Vitasoy Green Tea Soy Milk heated before bed or in a thermos for a winter drink.
-Tartex is pure gold in a can - to spread on any kind of crackers or on toast...or alone with a knife.
(PS...the green packaging is purely coincidental)

Post YOUR favorites...with pictures!!

Tartex must be the worst name (and that tube, the worst delivery method) for food I've ever seen. It looks like organic toothpaste. :) It makes me think of vegemite which the last time I tried I believe my first impulse was to cut my tongue out of my mouth. But I'm sure it's good. :)

And speaking of horrible names for food, I've been eating Thai food again lately and my favorite Thai dish is West-unfriendly named "larb". It's a kind of chicken salad made with mint, lime juice, fish sauce (yum!), onions, and thai spices. Wonderful wonderful. And spicy!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does that tube-snak say "Yeast Pate w/ Herbs"?

Because, if so, I'm going to dig out my eyeballs, fry them in bacon grease and then pour the entire contents of the pan, still hot, into my open mouth to prevent myself from ever seeing or tasting again.

That is simply hurliscious.:D

(speaking of which, has anyone seen the film Grey Gardens where they eat cat food and call it pate?)

My fav is sushi lunch special w/ salad (ginger dressing!) and miso soup. Mmmm, miso soup.

hahaha, wow.
I admit Tartex sounds like some sort of silverware polishing agent but I assure you it's delicious.
I sorta tastes like normal meat paté...or salmon maybe, it's actually quite addictive.
Here are the ingredients:
Nutritional yeast, water, organic palm kernel oil (non-hydrogenated), organic potato starch, organic leeks, organic sunflower oil, sea salt, organic herbs (chives, parsley), organic tomato puree, yeast extract

Nutritional yeast is delicious on popcorn, salads, stir-fries and in this case, in a creamy form as a spread. I so wish they sold it in tubes here but we only get the cans.

You wanna talk funky...this looks gross:

Vegan "meat"ball (http://www.elenasfoods.com/mb_italian.html)
sandwiches with homemade mashed potatos...yum...

I also have a pretty horrible addiction to pizza, pad thai w/ tofu, rice chex, pumpkin muffins/ cookies, pancakes and ramen. Lots and lots of ramen...

Egg drop soup is to die for, gummi red raspberries were delicious(though I haven't been able to find any in years!), and I would rain doom on the Earth for a slice of pizza.

gummi red raspberries as you call them are like, the most common candy where i live. we call them swedish berries and the are gelatine free (vegan) and they rock!

Why food gods, why must all I love leave me? Anyways, bad news about it no longer being carried at your food stores. What's a tartex? Sorry, I find no matter how extensive my vocabulry is, the internet always throws me something new.

Oh yeah, my town doesn't have a health foods store. They do have a Piggly-Wiggly, which is great fun to say try it like this "Piggalay Wiggalay."

I'm not quite sure, but it appears to be footage from a colonoscopy. A strangely appetizing colonoscopy.

I can't help but wonder, is it italian or mexican? And if I would rain doom on earth for a slice of pizza, you should be scared crapless by what I would do for sorbet. Sweet, sweet sorbet, my precious sorbet. Soon my darling, soon they will all know true terror. And fire.

It's a hawaiian favorite...first layer of white rice than a ground beef patty.then a sunny-side up egg and topped off with gravy....i know it sounds weird and the pic is actually kinda gross but it tastes delicious:D

Man...that looks awesome. Reminds me of Filipino comfort food. A delicious mess. Which makes sense. Filipinos are neck and neck with Hawaiians when it comes to, say, Spam eating. (Mmm...Spam...)

hmmm, almond milk rocks! So does soy milk. I don't drink animal milk...not only cuz I'm vegetarian, but I just always found it to be gross.
There are many good vegetable milks out there...and many less good ones.

If one wishes to drink soy, almond, barley or whatever milk, one should shop around before putting an X on it forever. Like my X bf, who after tasting only one brand, decided it was ''the worst thing on earth and only flakes could drink that stuff.''...sigh
