Don't get me wrong, I loved the fact that Captain America took Frank under his wing and were paired up together taking care of business, but what the hell happened at the end?? Do these writers even compare notes?? Why would the ending of Punisher War Journal be different to the part in Civil War 6 where Pun shoots the villains and Cap kicks the crap out of him. In PWJ the story is different. Why would Marvel do this?? The same thing happened in Amazing Spider Man with the Spidey/Iron Man situation. The stories were a little different in Civil War. Are they getting sloppy? Does Marvel have two offices based on exact opposite points in the world where they can't compare notes? What's the deal?

Except I'm not even sure what you're complaining about here. Apart from the fact that I'm not sure if this demands a separate thread of it's own, the only real difference between the two was in the art and where the story cut off. And maybe where Cap's hand was, but I'm willing to chalk all of it up to the art being more representative of Frank's loopy view of the MU, hence the weird hyper-real cartoony art.

Reread what I wrote above then.

Are you saying that my own thoughts/opinions aren't valid for a conversation? What are you the thought/forum police?? Stop dry snitchin' so the mods will get this topic erased Snitchy McGee.

Read both stories again side by side (assuming you even read them), Cap was never about to shake either of the villains hands in Civil War, Cap kicks the craaaaap outta the Punisher in Civil War, but not in PWJ. Should I keep going? Because it just wasn't the difference in the artwork.

Try merged with the actual PWJ thread.

So you're entire complaint is based on the number of times Cap hit Frank and where Cap's hand was when Castle shot the guys?

Well, they certainly aren't enough for an entire thread. I believe that that's in the rules somewhere.
In any case, is this the same issue where Cap is able to talk to the villains before they get gunned down?

I did read these side by side and I have no problem with the differences. No, its not exactly the same script, but you have to realize that is a story from the Punisher's perspective, not the same as the perspective in CW. Have you ever been talking to someone who is telling a story, then you hear the story from someone else? Usually the details arent the same, and that is the real difference here. The details arent the same. There is no reason to start a whole thread about it, especially since it was already discussed in the first PWJ thread.
The differences are pretty minor. Civil War had no handshake... and the execution was somewhat funnier with Frank's "what" line. But the basica story is the same.
Criminals are brought in, and Frank guns them down. War Journal ends halfway thought the scene we saw in Civil War, so we see more of the scene occuring in Civil War.
Overall, this is pretty minor. They fit together reasonable well enough. Though I suppose we should wait and see what happens in War Journal to really determine whether they fit well enough or not.

For those of us who have not read it yet, what happened?
Please include space for spoiler warnings.

I'm screaming WTF?!?! for completely different reasons.
Who cares where Cap's hand was or if Cap beat the tar out of Punisher or just gave him a love tap or if Greedo fired first or Han did?
My problem is that Millar writes Punisher like a silly cartoon and Fraction has to follow suit.
I don't like Frank shooting these guys just because they walked into the room. I prefer a Punisher who is smart and human, in addition to being a bit sociopathic. You know, a real three-dimensional character. A decently-written version of the Punisher wouldn't open up on those guys in a room full of other superheroes, because he would know that he'd get his arse handed to him and kicked off the team. He'd wait to kill them at an opportune moment or turn in his resignation to Cap.
A Punisher who would open up on those guys just because they walked into the room is like a cartoon mouse who just can't help himself when the cheese is around! Oh, there might be a bunch of cats guarding the cheese but he gots to have it! It's silly and it shows that Millar has no respect for these characters. He thinks they are silly cartoons. But Millar is in charge of the event, so Fraction has to do what he's told.
What a joke. And after a promising first issue. I'm dropping the book. This Punisher is silly and weak.

The way Pete and Tony are suppose to fight is like this:
You read Amazing Spidey 535 until it's finished.
From there, you read Civil War 5 until Pete is forced underground. Read no further for now.
From there, you go to Amazing Spidey 536 and read through the entire battle.
Finally you read all of Civil War 5 and a few pages of six before going the final stare-down.
Then you go to Amazing Spidey 536 and read the entire thing.
After that, you go to Amazing Spidey 537, read them all.
Finally, finish reading Civil War 6 and read Amazing Spidey 538 and I guess Civil War 7.

I agree, this did strike me as comical and funny in CW6 and then afterwards I thought it was odd. Normally he would have gritted his teeth, not talked, threatened or looked at them, because he has never convinced a superhero before to agree with his stance and that isn't his 'mission.' He probably would have left early, tracked them, waited until they were alone and then gunned them down, or left little to no evidence it was him, and while they might suspect it, they would never be able to prove it. That's Ennis' Punisher from the Max series to me, who is supposed to be the same guy, not the person we saw in CW6.
In my opinion I think the differences between CW6 and WJ2 are so minor, they are not worth mentioning.

Can't we all just get along?
it's not worth getting emotional over.
Personally i think it's the best time ever for reading and collecting comics.
Surely the best medium at the moment!!!
You don't have to love civil war or Infinite crisis (i did).
just understand the significance of BIG events.
Create new and interesting Titles (civil war the initiative) (52, OYL)
New characters (blue beetle) (penance)
Like dan didio said, or julius swartz to be correct, every 10 years or so you have to give the universe an enema.
Inject new life, clear out clutter ect ect ect.
A few Retcons here and there.
Clone a norse God, Pound on the walls of reality.
It's all fun and enjoyable. not personal.
If BIg crossovers bother anyone, there are plenty of indie titles out that are great.
Ex-machina
Plantery
100 bullets
y the last man
the exterminators
the boys.
Hunter/killer
to name a few.

Don't be so hard on yourself bud. Not everyone can live in America. Keep working hard and eventually you'll get that Visa you've always wanted. Maybe I'll let you clean my house when you get to America. Deal?

I know you're being completely serious and it's crazy if Marvel expects us to do this. Joe Quesada needs to put the donuts down and get crackin!!!

The thing is the Amazing Spider-Man issues just plump up the battle but are not necessary at all to the main story.
