So I was thinking..what would people like to see happen here?

Keep a "norse" old type warrior look like a real viking god or go the more modern way like ultimates and make it like "oh is he really a god or just some nut in a suit"

should they get into the off planet stuff? asgard and all that?

or just keep it on earth for the most part...

i think it'd be a huge mistake to turn thor into spiderman and just keep him on earth and make him some hippie like in ultimates lol not that i dont like ultimate thor :p

but i'd want a really epic feel to it sorta like lord of the rings had

what type of plots you'd like to see? which characters and villains?

On July 23, 2006 at the 2006 Comic Con it was announced Marvel was already in the works for a Thor movie. I just hope it doesn't end up like this... http://youtube.com/watch?v=tWmHEF_PT8E

Personally, I'd like to see more of an actual Norse god in a modern setting. I thinki it would be intresting to have him trying to get used to a completley new time while the new timeis trying to get used to him as well.

I'd use Asgard for only a little bit, make a cameo or origin sequence. Loki should be the primary foe, but I'd down play the god angle with him, saying that unlike Thor, he's been around and has had more time to adjust to the world.

Does anybody remember the Thor who appeared in that old Hulk movie? I liked that guy.

With a little bit of hair dye, I think Sean Bean could play the part.

I'm not sure if it should be in Asgard more than on Earth or vice-versa, but I do think the villain has to be Loki.

Last i heard about the Thor film it sounded like a bit of a Lord of the Rings rip-off...

It was in an Avi Arad interview in SFX. Didn't fill me with confidence.

If they stick to a Norse setting, then the actor would have to have long red hair and a mustache. If they go with the comic world (most likely) then yes, Triple H might do well. But, I think they should go along with 'Superman' and pick a virtually unknown actor to do it. There has to be a few big blonde god-like folks over in Norway or Sweden who could pull it off. My choice would be Vladimir Kulich, who played 'Buliwyf' in 'The 13th Warrior'. Awesome movie...there is nearly two hours of unreleased footage out there somewhere...bastards.

Stick on Earth... Make it a fun, whimsical quasi re-make of the camply fantastic and humourlessly dubbed Hercules in New York

(I'm joking of course)

Of all Marvel's properties, I firmly believe that Thor is one that best remains on the page and not on the big screen - too conceptually tricky for the average cinema going punter.

Damn, that was terrible footage. I was always afraid for that Hulk when I was little.. Lou Ferrigno looked really scary with that green makeup and green eyes.. But, that Thor. Jesus he looks corny!!

Seriosly..seriosly...anyone bringing up wrestlers and any other random guy with big muscles needs to die. lmao

seriosly now why do you want to doom the movie before its even made

especialy someone like triple h who cant act for ****. even for a wreslter hes horrible.

and THIS ISN'T "WHO SHOULD PLAY THOR" thread lol Plus I'm pretty sure they announced that punk ass nephew of john travolta got the part.

and what about adapting one of the already done thor storylines from the comics? of curse thered be differences here and there as always with movies. like walt simonsons surtur story...but that would prbly be better for a sequal

I think Karl Urban would be perfect for the role.

I think I'd play with the original concept a bit. Lee and Kirby touched on something real interesting, although they kind of lost the human aspect as superhero wackiness took over the book - a handicapped man suddenly in posession of the most capable body ever. Like I said, I'd play with the concept a bit - maybe make Blake a combat doctor who lost his leg in the war?

And there's only one choice for Thor. He's already played him once - Vince D'Onofrio in Adventures in Babysitting.

Hell no. Someone who can actually act would be preferable.

The only person attached to this movie on IMdb is David S. Goyer as the screenwriter and he looks like he'll be really busy with Superhero/comicbook movies in the near future. he's attached to the Flash and the Captain America movies. Also the Dark Knight, the follow up to Batman Begins.

He has written the entire Blade trilogy and the series, but he is also responsible for the craptastic Nick Fury flick.

He has a whole lot on his plate, in some instances he seems capable, some cases i think he may be out of his depth.

That being said, I think the Thor movie should be set in Asgard in the Beginning maybe a dream sequence that Blake wakes up from the day he finds the walking stick/Mjolner. In the opening sequence lots of fighting, maybe some Giants and Ice Dwarves. And ending the sequence with Odin banishing him. Loki is already on Earth when Thor reappears by way of Blake. When Loki notices, he summons some demons or whatever that Thor must best. Maybe Odin, makes his pressence known to Blake and explains Thors plight and how to free his spirit forever. Of course there is some love interest for Blake and Thor steals his....thunder, creating a conflict between the two protagonists.(but it may not be necessary) Ultimately I think most of it should take place on earthin the present day, and Thor should definately wind up smacking down his wicked half brother who got him into this trouble in the first place.

if they make a thor movie i think it should take place in asgard and not earth. i would like it if they kept him as far away from humanity that they could. i would also like it if they gave him a european-ish culture. but more importantly the soundtrack should consist entirely of viking death metal.

How about a trilogy???

1- Thor's origin...understanding of his powers and mjolnir. Loki tries to rule Earth . First battle with Loki's trolls and Ulik or something from his history who come to Earth . Loki takes advantage to beat Odin

2-The fight moves to Asgard . Battles with Loki/Destroyer Armor . We have Thor defeated at the end of the movie

3-Revenge nuff said

If they want to do a trilogy, the third one should be about Ragnarok.

I always thought what Thor needed was a nebbish little sidekick who was constantly screaming at him. Maybe Rick Moranis could portray him; he probably hasn't had a decent meal in a while.

what i meant was that they shouldnt give him an american cultural backround which hollywood is quite fond of. none of the love of my life, i'll be with you forever until the day i die, hopelessly romantic crap we see all over the media in the US.

That's a pretty underrated film. And Buliwyf was pretty damn fantastic. He was like a cross between Thor and Conan. But if you go to the Internet Movie Database you will learn that the actor playing that part Vladimir Kulich, is now 50 years old. Considering the way Hollywood think, they will want a younger attractive guy.

Villains?

I mean besides Loki. It can't just be Loki. He always has some multi-layered scheme and uses others for his bidding.

Absorbing Man? Wrecker?

Gray Gargoyle? lol
