Now I have an excuse to buy this guy (http://www.apple.com/iphone/) or see attached image. June is a long wait though.

Sucks about deadPod, but sweet about phonePod. I want one now.
My iPod is made of steel, I think. It's survived so much more crap than anyone else's, and it still works perfectly. A day after I got it, it fell out of my jacket pocket and the case popped apart in half. I snapped it shut again, did a hard restart, and it continued to play my songs. Wacky!

I don't have an iPod, but my Mp3 player still works (sort of) despite all the abuse it has suffered.
Poor thing, all dented, scratched and gouged.

I think the iPhones are running about $500. They also announced the iTV. Now if they can only tie everything together...

The iTV already exists. It's called the xbox360 and it does the job better. I'll skip the iTV.
The iPhone is expensive, but if you've bought any modern smartphone you'll find that the price is quite comparable.
Maybe I'll win the lotto between now and June:rolleyes:

I have a 360 but it takes forever to download a show. My Mac does it in minutes after you buy it from Apple. But every ones connection is different.

Sorry about your ipod, but now you do have a great excuse to get the iphone! I want one, but I already have a phone and an ipod, so other than wanting it, I have no reason to get one.

Just watched the 1 and a half hour long keynote-speech by Steve Jobs. This thing is not there to be used as a phone or an iPod - it will be the coolest thing on this planet for years to come - not more and not less. ;) Heck, I don't even use my cellphone or my iPod, but I have to have this little miracle of modern technology.

I've resisted Apple products for years. I find a lot of irony in their "Think different" campaign when offering a machine you can't customize. I did buy my girlfriend a Nano though and it's perfect for her.
My sister bought me a Zune for Christmas and while it wasn't my ideal choice for an mp3 player, I'm currently loving it. I doubt I'll ever find another Zune owner to share songs with but it's still a cool toy. And customizable, too! I already have a Hellboy cover as my background on it. :)

I would break an iPod in 30 seconds. I've had my MP3 player for about a year and a half and I have already dropped it, kicked it and drop-kicked it. Still plays great! Plus its a lot smaller in size, but it fits like 800 songs.

I download stuff on my xbox 360 just as fast as on my iMac so, yeah I think it's dependent on your connection.

I've never dropped my iPod, but I used it obsessively. I generally take really good care of my tech, but I also use them more than the average owner so, it was only a matter of time.
