Whatever happened to that character? I was reminiscing and stuff(I tried for 2 minutes, but 'and stuff' was the best/least obvious way to say sitting on my butt and staring at the ceiling. Why'd I tell you that? Oh right, mind control) when I remembered ole' Torchie. I only read about him in the first graphic novel, and was wondering if he shows up somewhere else, or if there were plans to do something with him. Thanks for your time.(Also, how do I get those pics that are below your names, and quotes below all I say? Dang I am such a...dangit, there a better word than newbie?)

Hi Vakanai, and greetings and salutations to you Bandit.... One cup of joe with the old ''Torch'' just aint enough, but alas the character of Mr Liberty is created and owned by John Byrne.Artists sometimes let their creations play in somebody elses universe,[check Hellboy's entrance in Nextmen 21] both John Byrne and Mike Mignola have forged great stories and characters....

I kept expecting Mike Mignola to create an analogue to replace Torch of Liberty, but it never happened. The closest is Lobster Johnson, but he wasn't there when Hellboy was "born", nor was he there as a role model like the Torch was supposed to be. I remember something about Hellboy saying that the Torch taught him how to shoot and his gun had been a gift from the Torch.

Wasn't it changed by Mike to Commander Freedom?
Commander Freedom was used in one of the short stories in Odd Jobs or Odder Jobs.
I think Torch of Liberty is the canon. We just won't see him again.

Including in photographs of the actual event where he was supposed to be.
