This may or may not have already occured over at 616 (if it did let me know), but who thinks Ben should have a secret crush on Sue Storm?

I should say though that it shouldn't be anything full blown (like the recent revelation in Ult X-Men) but rather something that just makes Ben uncomfortable to see Reed and Sue together. Also Sue would be completely oblivious to Ben's feelings.

This could open up some new plot devices and allow for a greater diversion from the 616 FF.

I'm not necessaily saying I want to see it happen, but I'm curious if anyone else thinks it should.

That'd be something interesting to play with. I think Ultimate Reed and Sue have become too comfortable with each other; they've been a couple since virtually the beginning of the series, and there hasn't really been much to stand in their way. I'd like to see some more conflict play out.

I think Professor X should fall in love with her. What can he say, he's an amorous guy.

I think that it would make for some good stories and I think that it would be a cool change.

Isn't that what happened in the ORIGINAL Fantastic Four comics - the ones by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby?

So I've heard. I never read those, but in Morrison's FF mini he vaguely refers to a secret crush Ben had on Sue.

I wouldn't mind it. I would probably just play it not as a "crush" but just basically like he's the living 3rd reel. Sue and Reed have that mature soul-mate type deal going on. Johnny has the more young immature "I'm hot and young. You're hot and young." type relationships. And he is just drifting around.

Though I think they introduced Ultimate Alicia Masters, so that would be problematic for the idea.

Sure, why not? It would be different.

It would be more interesting if Ben had a secret crush on Reed .

We've already seen a hints of things between Reed, Sue, and Namor that basically mimics the 616. I'd like to see things develop between Reed and Sue's mom.

Or better yet, Ben and Sue's dad.

Actually, in the early issues, Johnny picked fights with Ben over his jealousy of Reed and Sue. However, since the Namor/Sue/Reed love triangle was more popular, they made a love intrest in Alicia.
