2006 saw a bit of down swing in my general Image buying habits. Fewer new titles and GNs and more just sticking with what I've been reading along.
Invincible, Savage Dragon, Walking Dead, and Noble Causes keep on trucking as my favorite ongoing series from Image. It was great how Dragon bounced back from 2005.
Jack Staff is probably my favorite comic book ever. But only 3 issues arrived in 2006, which really sucks because it truly is an amazing book.
Cassanova turned out really good too, I love it's content and it's price.
Five Fists of Science GN, which Matt Faction also wrote, was also bloody fantastic. I wish he'd do a sequel of some kind.
Biggest disappointment is probably Doug Tennapel's Iron West GN, coming off the amazing Earthboy Jacobus GN of 2005 it just wasn't as good. I am however still a huge Tennapel fan and can't wait for his next book in May, and the reprint of Gear GN here pretty soon.
Like I said, compared to 2005, I'm reading a lot less of Image, there seemed to be a huge boom in Image OGNs back in 04 and 05 and they've slowly started to dry up in 2006, with only Iron West, Five Fists of Science, Tales of the Colossus, Wicked West II, and Stagger Lee GNs tickling my fancy.

Godland should also be on your pull list.
Oh yeah I forgot about that book. That's one of the books I'm most excited to read each month. I don't have a pull list because of apathy.:)
Savage Dragon is a consistantly great comicbook. I'm just not the same person when I began reading it 6 years ago. My tastes have changed and so have my reading habits. I do comend Erik Larson on his role as publisher. He has brought diversity and quality to the Image Central line up.

For me it was Hunter/Killer, Sam Noir and The Nightly News being the best. Looking forward to Russian Sunset, Drain and Sam Noir Ronin Vacation this year.

SAVAGE DRAGON is, and will always be, my fave comic of all-time. Therefore it should be no surprise that this is my Best of 2006 choice. The fact that Erik has managed to regularly put out this book while writing/pencilling/inking/lettering/colouring it, AND is the publisher of the third biggest comics company in the USA, makes it pretty special.
INVINCIBLE - an honourable mention as this book would become my fave if Erik suddenly decided that he didn't want to do SD anymore. It's such a great and fun read that more people should try it out.
THE WALKING DEAD - the one part where I think Invincible fails at is a high bodycount, so Robert Kirkman more than makes up for it with this title. This year has been relatively slow death-wise, but the character interaction and set-up has been top-notch.
NOBLE CAUSES - I love Jay's work. The fact that his books don't sell ten times as much as they do is criminal. This book is wicked fun and who doesn't love the character of Frost?
GODLAND - the art alone is worthy of inclusion but Joe Casey just happens to be one of the best writers around. Combine the two and you've got one of the most exciting comics on the market.

Walking Dead - Best black and white award
Cassanova - Best wacky crazy happy funland book award
Fell - Best...best...it's a damn good book award
Witchblade 100 - Best book that I've known about for the past ten years and was always interested in and only now picked up an issue and liked it quite a bit award
Russian Sunset - Best book announced in 2006 that was never released, but still looks awesome award

Is FELL really late?
I didn't think it really had a set schedule... either way
FELL and Casanova, wich regardless of price point are fantastic books.
Godland, Nightly News, and and and... Savage Dragon, which I admit I don't buy monthly, but I pick it up from time to time and Erik is continualy trying new things, and that deserves a mention.
