SPOILERS:

I have a feeling people who've been crossing their fingers for Ray Terril's (AKA the REAL Ray) return will like this one. :)

spoilers....

I gotta say this has been one of the best comic issues ive read in a very long time. Since this ray's a traitor it looks good to see ray terril making his return:D... plus sam says there's more freedom fighters out there hmm... the characterization is utterly amazing, and with the return of the golden age miss america, that alone makes this book pretty amazing:D!!!!

Hell, I'd settle for Happy Terrill is Ray can't make it!
Still its been a great book.

So what other Freedom Fighters might show up? Magno? Neon the Unknown? Red Torpedo? Another Invisible Hood?

I always had a completely inexplicable like for Red Torpedo.

Awesome. This book is unbelievable. On top of being a Golden Age nerdgasm, it's bringing even more life into the Kirby New Gods mythos in a wild, twisted way. Easily one of the best DC books I've been reading this year.

I'm assuming those guys at the end were the Mathemagicians of Apokolips that were mentioned an issue or two ago.

And yay Evil!Ray. And possible subsequent return of Ray2.0.

I think it's quite obvious that those are the things that Gonzo created that are big enough to wear the alien armor that was found on the moon.

I gave a WTF and thought the Celestials have invaded the DCU for a second. But I think you're right.

Nah, I don't think the Mathemagicians would show themselves while they still have agents like Gonzo and Father Time (and whoever that crazy spider-lady was). Like Pip said, they're creatures created by Gonzo to wear the armor found on Earth's moon, which looks insanely Kirbyesque. Somewhere between Celestials and New God armor. It's gonna' be an awesome finalé.

Gotta voice my support for this title.

I was real hesitant with this book, cause I was concerned that it would be more political, but this book is outstanding.

If you aren't buying it, do yourself a favor and jump on board!!

They kinda look like Imperiex probes, don't they? From Our Worlds At War? I tell you, if someone can spin something interesting out of THAT abortion, they're probably among the greatest living comic book writers ever.

The crazy spider lady was the Bride of Frankenstein, last seen in Seven Soldiers! A nice tie-in, since that's where SHADE debuted.

And yeah, this series keeps getting better and better. I love the new Red Bee and it's a shame that Invisible Hood went down like a punk (in the same issue he debuted!) But still, the Golden Age Miss America! The possibility of the "real" Ray returning! Good stuff all around.

Gah, damnit! Don't say anything else. I'm waiting for the last trade.

Still, wow. So, most of this was probably all Morrison's idea, then? The Mathemagicians, Gonzo and Time being constructs of the Anti-Life Equation (which makes perfect sense, because they're all about control), probably even the monstrous Kirbyeqsue armored aliens. Makes sense, they're insane and twisted ideas. Glad you pointed it out, though, because I was going to completely praise Palmiotti and Gray for it.

Yeah, I'd love it if Happy returned next issue. And don't count the new kid out just yet. Sure, he died, but with people like Miss America and Uncle Sam there, he could be saved (especially since they're in that pocket universe). I wouldn't mind seeing a ridiculously huge cast, here.

Wasn't the "crazy spider lady" the Native American goddess who gave Black Condor his powers? Why would you call the Bride of Frankenstein a spider lady?

Jack Zodiac

Because I called her "crazy spider lady," because the only feature I remember from her was her extra arms. I haven't read the final Seven Soldiers trade, so I didn't know that she'd appeared already.

Now that I know there's a huge connection between Grant's project and this book, though, does it strike anyone as odd that Black Condor was given his powers by a "crazy spider lady" in the desert? Given what I know about the Sheeda from the first four books, and the "Midnight at Miracle Mesa" opening, John getting his powers in the desert from a spider woman seems like it could be connected to them.

I hope there's another Invisible Hood out there- liked the Red Bee, too- who was Dollman sleeping with? and is Miss America going to be part of the team, or what?

Dollman was sleeping with the female scientist who worked with him while they were still at SHADE. And unless they all die in this book, I'd say Miss America's likely to stick around.

Well, finally got around to reading them all (1-6) and I have to say, I love this book.

And I have to agree with Firebrand...Stormy does give Powergirl a run for her money. :D

Absolutely excellent artist with an awesome story attached.
