BAA is second only to Nausicaa and the Valley of Wind as my favorite manga. the original 9 volumes are some of the best comics I have ever read. When I first went to Japan it had not been completely translated so I worked at reading in Japanese, I owe some of my language skills to my love of this book.

Battle Angel Alita Last Order is somewhat less so...
The first issue or two were decent but once we went off to space and started the ZOTT (and the creator asked people to send in their own designs) I almost gave up. But I gave #8 a try.

I should have hated it. We get a few pages of Alita doing nothing and then 100 pages of Vampire Hunter D. But actually I sort of liked the vampire plot. Anyone else reading this series?

Yeah, actually. Very nice art :) Takes a while to release though...

Been reading it for the better part of a decade now. It's one of my all-time favorites.

The Caerulea Saga is a bit of an odd switch, but so long as it continues to contain the same excellent artwork and action, I don't really mind.

Always been a fan, ever since I saw the horribly watered down anime years ago.

Actually enjoy The Last Order, mostly because I thought the original ending was kinda lame (that and chibi-Sechs is awesomeness). Don't like what happend to Lou though. :(

If I recall correctly, Battle Angel Alita was, along with Akira, one of the first anime I ever saw (not counting Robotech and Star Blazers, since I didn't really know what they were at the tender age of 8... I just knew they were awesome)
