that problem is trying to figure out which Superman is the one from "Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow"?
I was reading a wiki, and it said that this Superman is the Kingdom Come superman. If so how does this fit with Kingdom Come and WHTTMOT? My confusion comes from just reading the Superman/Batman :Abolute Power trade.
So correct me if I'm wrong, but the Superman from "whatever happened to the man of tomorrow" is not the 1938 original?
I've probably confused most of you already, but any help would be nice.

1st NEVER REALLY TRUST WHAT IS SAID ON WILKI
now that thats done
NO The Superman from KC is not the same Superman from WHTTMOT
and yes the WHTTMOT is the 1938 Superman (just a different timeline)
the whole problem with WHTTMOT is that in essence it is a ELSEWORLDS story that a few fans like to make fit into continuity (which it does not)
As to where the KC Superman comes from he is Silver age Superman after the modern age and 10 years retired (more power older look)

The "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" is supposed to be an imaginary story that tells the ending for the Pre-Crisis Earth-1 Superman. WHTTMOT is an imaginary story, so it really isn't part of any continuity. The future Superman from Absolute Power turns into WHTTMOT as an easter egg for long time readers, it's not really meant to be anything significant.

I believe it's meant to be the silver age Superman.

While I agree with your first statement, I cannot agree with the second one.
There is to my knowledge NO evidence that the continuity of "Kingdom Come" is a continuation in any form (even Elseworlds) of the Silver Age Superman. In fact, elements like Superman's appearance in the trial flashbacks and Alan Scott's role as an aged Green Lantern indicate that Kingdom Come is a potential future of the then post-COIE timeline.
The confusion seems to be coming for both of you from Jeph Loeb's Superman/Batman arc which saw a Superman who was by all visual indications the Moore Superman we're talking about here. Yet in his appearance to our Superman and Batman, he's wearing the Kingdom Come iteration of Superman's uniform. This was never explained by Loeb during his run, and is very likely his attempt at offering a homage to Moore's story. I also wouldn't be surprised to learn that the only reason that future Superman had the KC costume was because McGuinness liked it.
I admit I could be off, but everything I've read/seen on Kingdom Come over the years, including the story itself, indicates its a potential future of the post-Crisis world.

The Superman from "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?" story is supposed to be the pre-crisis Superman. Technically it isn't the 1938 Superman, because in those days, the 1938 Superman was referred as the Golden-Age Superman who lived on Earth-2, and was in a state of limbo with Earth-2 Lois Lane, the Superboy of Earth-Prime, and Alexander Luthor. The Superman in the story is basically the Silver Age Superman of Earth-1.
Since Kingdom Come is an Elseworlds story, KC Superman is not tied to any continuity, no matter what images appear in that story or anywhere else.
As for Absolute Power, other than the age and costume of that Superman, this appears to be just another Alternate Future Superman. After all, how many stories have been made that showed an alternate version of Superman that looked exactly like the one we normally follow? Hell, the history might be different, but the Superman of today looks just like he did in 1980, other than the artists.
