So I just picked up Tony Hawk Project 8 for my PSP and while I have been playing it I notice I keep rubbing against the power switch and turning off my PSP. Anyone else have this problem with this game or any others ?

I have not had that problem, but my brother did a few times...I think if you grip to hard and shift you hand around instead of holding it still...

Besides the insane jealousy I feel towards you because I was dumb enough to upgrade my firmware after my first exeperiences with homebrew were such a disaster.
I am playing:
Marvel: UA
Justice League: Heroes
Tony Hawk's Project 8
The Fury

Ah gotcha....I upgrade....nevermind.
Odd thing, Sony could just release a program that does it anyway and let people do it...with like licenses from the official PSP webiste...it would boost the PSP's potential without cracking your sustem...right?

Sony already does that, that's why it's possible. The emulator used was coded by Sony and included in the last update. You download games via PS3 and play. All the homebrewers have done is allowed for games not recieved from the Sony store to be played. Sony probably has to negotiate the license for all these games, so it will take a while and several will probably never be made available. With this you take the copy you already own and have at it.
Serious question, why do people upgrade? All of the features end up included in homebrew that week anyway.

I had no choice... it was either upgrade or I couldn't play any of the games I am currently playing.
Justice League, Marvel, and Tony Hawk all required 2.81 to play them.

I played need for speed underground. And I was under the impression that manay PSP owners threw up their hands in fustration (because of the lack of original games and the UMD fiasco) and went the DS lite route like myself. Although Killzone is looking decent.

Killzone is not decent, it's an excellent game. Sucks for people who gave up on PSP, because FFVII, Castlevania SOTN, Resident Evil 3, Metal Gear Solid, all portable trumps all. Not to mention UMD's being dead is something no one should care about, since PSPs play AVC videos which are high quality, small size, and very easy to convert to.
So, all in all, most of the criticism of the PSP is way past it's expiration date now. Thanks to PS1 emulation it has a better library than any portable system in the history of portable systems, and that's in additon to it's unprecedented functions as a movie and music player.

Woo-hoo! That's a good list. Anything in particular that's like THE HOT game right now that would make me a hero?

Sure, if shooting people in the face and murdering hookers is her thing.
Otherwise, go with some puzzle game or crap like that.
Seriously though, everything reccomended previously is a good choice, but they're also pretty much it for the PSP.

Sonic is a good game, as is Burnout legends. I had the same problem with buy xmas presents for my sister with a PSP. Most of the games are either FPS, sports games, or too violent. So I copt out and bought all 4 Harry Potters for her to watch.

The hot games for the psp are Madden Football, Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Auto, Military Shooters and Racing games. Those seem to be overly complex or have violence and mature themes. I'd recomend Lego Star Wars or Daxter instead as good platformers for all ages.

I've only see it happen to my friend, and it's because he plays like a spazz.
Do you play like a spazz?

pretty sure I am nto a spazz, have you played any games where you have to switch rapidly from the X to the triangle and hold down th4 triangle, that seems ot be when it happens most.
I probably just have big hands.

Has anyone toyed with the Video RSS channels on their PSP yet ? I was able to get to grouper and get some stuff, but I would really prefer longer videos. Is anyone else using this ? Does anyone have any good links ?

I'm having trouble connecting my PSP to my houses wireless network at the moment...but haven't done any of that for a while.
No links sorry. But I'd like some. :D

This is an interesting topic because I work at Toys R Us and someone asked me what kind of games that were just for younger players. And the thing was that most of the PSP games I've seen were Teen to Mature rating. i wasn't sure it was because we just didn't any Kid rated games or it was that there weren't that many Kid rated games.

Is anyone playing Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth ? I had to restart a couple of times because I guess I didn't quite "get it", but now I am in the flow and its really fun. Spent a good 20 minutes last night just trying to cross the big pond where you chop the heads of the flowers and use those for jumping across. I seem to be stuck at this point though.

I was playing Valkyrie Profile until E-Day happened. Since then, it's been almost all PS1 games (funny considering VP is a PS1 port). But when it's a choice between VP and FF VII, well, there's really not much of a choice.

I played my cousin's PSP over the Dec. holidays and was impressed by how sharp the grapics were and how handy it was for watching video and listening to podcasts. Mostly got my ass kicked in Tekken 5. Sent him Burnout Legends and Syphon Filter as a birthday present.

I'm going to start playing it soon. I bought the game yesterday because I loved it when it was on the PS1.

Sony gets OWNED once again since 2.81-3.03 has once again been hacked. This is for everyone who's ever wanted to homebrew but couldn't since they had the versions mentioned above.

Well not quite yet actually. They have exploited it, but they only have "hello World" running on it now.
