Hmm, there doesn't seem to be a general comics forum, so I guess I'll post it here:

Do you guys use any or know of any online comic shops? What do you think of them?

Being abroad, the only access I have to purchasing comics, is the Internet.

I have had experience with only two:

One is Midtowncomics.com. I hate to say it, but they did not follow through on my order and it was eventually cancelled. Perhaps because I am in China and they are distrustful, I don't know. They were not really communicative and didn't answer many of my emails.

Two is MileHighComics.com. They answer about 1/2 my emails (I sound like an email pest, but I'm not really lol), and they completed my order and shipped in a week. But, I have yet to receive any order from them, even though it's been a month.

Three (I know I just said there were two, but this one isn't really a 'comic shop') is Amazon.com. The big gun. I can get TPBs from them and I've had absolutely no problems with them. They ship to this country in about 2 weeks. But, as you know, they don't have any backissues (duh!), so it's not a great choice.

Any others you recommend or recommend one avoid?

We have quite a few posters here from Australia. Maybe (in a few hours when they're more likely to be online) they can recommend something based there. The geographical proximity may make them easier to do business with. More experience with the shipping requirements etc.

See my sig for a link to the Ace Comics online store.

I honestly have no idea how costs would work out shipping via Australia compared with shipping direct from the US.

Those lazy Aussies are ahead of my time, so they should be up and on the boards by now. :p It's their lunch hour right about now. :D

That's a good idea though, thanks. Never thought of looking to them. :)

Edit: Thanks Ian!

I use mycomicshop.com. Love their Sub Service. And when I'm itching for back issues, they'll do what they call 'piggybacking', which means they'll put them in my next Sub Shipment for no additional shipping charge.

Where I usually hang my hat (when it's up).

No shill, I'll announce when it's open again and you all decide.
