Pan's Labyrinth Sketchbook Contest (http://panslabyrinth.com/mysketchbook/)
Anyone see this yet? I'd love to throw up some sketches, but as I'm a Canukistani, I'm not eligible. But there's many talented USians here who definitely have a chance :)

...and speaking of sketch books, here are some details from SciFi Wire.
Hellboy 2 To Cast In Jan.
Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro told SCI FI Wire that he's gearing up for the sequel, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, and will begin casting in January. Del Toro—speaking in an interview in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Dec. 18 while promoting his upcoming Pan's Labyrinth—said he was in "preproduction. Budgeting. Fighting for the budget. Casting starts in January."
Del Toro added that the film will likely shoot in May or June in Hungary, or "where the exchange rate takes us." The film, like its predecessor, is based on Mike Mignola's comic-book series.
Del Toro, who never travels without his leather-bound sketchbook of ideas, offered SCI FI Wire a brief look at some of his notes for Hellboy 2. "It's only ideas for visual gags so far," he said as he leafed through pages covered with precise script and drawings of Hellboy characters. "You know, some of the fights. A physical gag I'm going to try." He pointed to one drawing: A glass bubble helmet with a mouthpiece. It's Johann Kraus, the ectoplasmic agent from the comics, who is a disembodied spirit with psychic abilities who maintains form by wearing a containment suit. "The guy in the suit. And little sculptural pieces. An idea I have for a blue screen trick. An Elemental. Wardrobe. A helmet idea for Johann."

And I found this at DarkHorizons:
He's the helmer of "Pan's Labyrinth", one of the year's absolute best films, and whilst doing promotions for it, he has talked a lot about his various projects in the works.
In regards to the "Hellboy" sequel, he confirmed to Fangoria that "We are preparing to shoot in May or June, but we don't start casting until January".
After that he has three dream projects he'd love to do next - H.P. Lovecraft's Antartic-set tale "At the Mountains of Madness", the Faustian tale "Mephisto's Bridge", and "Montecristo" a Gothic Western retelling of the classic "Count of Monte Cristo" story by Dumas.
Also on the cards are his dark, straightforward take on Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic hero Tarzan, telling Sci-Fi Wire that "Tarzan I take on because I really think in a feverish state I do believe that there is a Tarzan to be made that is more fantastic and darker and different than the ones that have been made".
He's also thinking about returning to his native Mexico to film the wrestler/vampire story "Silver".
Finally, Suicide Girls recently spoke with "Children of Men" helmer Alfonso Cuaron who was asked if he'd team up with Guillermo. He replied "We always talk about it. Doing a film with me, Guillermo and Alejandro Iñárritu ("Babel"). At one point Guillermo wanted to do a story of a kidnapping seen from three different points of view and for each one of us to take a different character for a different point of view of the same situation".
I made it!!! now I have a reasonto get off my behind to start sketching some stuff to fill the stetchbook:p

Yeah saw it there, awsome stuff!
Question.. do they let you upload images after the book is made, or are they having us post all 10 when it's created?
I was wondering the same thing...i shot them an email about it,no answer yet.

According to the rules, you don't get to add or edit after you upload, which is right after you register.
I finally got it to work...SWEET!...but decided to try and generate some new content. I have a lot of drawings but it asks for those inspired by Pan's Labyrinth, which none of mine are. So I figured I'd try and do some new stuff along those lines.

I got mine up there. Sadly only a few pieces. GDEO...nice Pan sketch! Wish there was more of your work there, I'd would have loved to see it. Would have been nice to have been able to amend the content later so more could be added as inspiration from the movie grew. Since I have not seen it yet I imagine I could come up with a lot more after a viewing...along with the majority of those entering the contest.
i've seen the film..and it's fantastic!!!Which book is yours? You've made the cut for the shirt....Congrats!:D

It's the one titles, "Ideas from Pan." Mostly photo manipulation as it takes me way too long to generate anything good. So I worked off idea sketches and tried to create a picture based off what I could find. As I see my score dropping, it doesn't seem too popular. ;) But, you are right, I made the shirt cut off.
There is some good stuff on there though most of it has nothing to do with the movie.
Glad you loved it! I can't wait to see it. I am really hoping this long period of anticipation does not lessen its genius and enjoyment.
New sketchbook acccepted..under"Gary's Labyrinth"...it's my stuff that y'all have seen on my art thread:) check it out if you have a chance..Thanks!:)

Yeah, there's a lot of good stuff over there. I might try my hand at it. While getting a chance to win an autographed poster is fantastic the big thing for me would be to show my art to folks in the biz.
I noticed the tag "inspired by"...I'm assuming the art doesn't so much have to be about Pan or Ofelia or the frog for example, but to be about the film's spirit and ideals.
Would I be way off base here?
And I actually rescheduled my vacation so I could catch the film when it opens in Boston, because there's a no chance in hell that film is going to run in the soulless megaplexes here in FL.
Talk about Super-Geek dedication!:D
