Any chance in hell that the great cable character we all loved from 616 being badass and manly taking on Big A himself can be reedemed in the ultimate universe?
I was beginning to enjoy the character from 616 and just when I wanted to enjoy his character for his intro of ultimate verse, poof it's wolverine errrr. Now I know this is old news and all but you guys think there's any chance for him to reedem?
Only way I see it, is recon the storyline and come up with something unique and cool for the cable character. I would have loved it, if cable himself is some kind of old clone of Peter Parker who has a mixed gene mix of Petey himself with Kitty. I find that to be really cool of an idea.
How about you guys?

Why does he need to be redeemed? The Ultimate Universe version doesn't have to be anything at all like the 616 version. And frankly I'm glad he's not. As much as I dislike Cableverine, at least he's not the time displaced son of Scott and Jean's clone. There's no reason to retcon the storyline just to bring in a carbon copy 616 Cable. :p

Personally, I don't like either version of Cable. They're both poster-boys for what was wrong in their era.
616: Bulging muscles, pouches, big guns, glowing eye, time-travel, clones, Summers lineage, Liefeld, hardass attitude.
Ultimate: Too much Wolverine.

I'm with Beast. I don't like Cableverine but I'm glad he isn't a carbon copy of 616 Cable. Anyway, his Ultimate version doesn't have a convulted backstory. I'm thankful just for that.

I'll make this quick.
I hate Cable, I always have... and from the looks of it I always will.
When I first saw the character he looked weight to freaking weird, huge muscles, white hair, glowing eye, cybornetic arm, huge guns and relatively no showing of his supposed teleketic powers/telepathy though in his defense we were lead to believe it took all his conentration to keep his body from turning to crap from a techno virus he had.... oh well, I hate Cable.
Ultimate version, just plain ugly if not anything else it's wolverine... argh.

I guess he can be redeemed if it turns out that his theories are right.
Of course, then they'd have to kill Pofessor X to save the future. Maybe the Prof can off himself over unrequitted love and then everyone can be happy.

He just has to accept Jesus as his lord and savior.

I would say no. Cable and his new origin seem to have been written into this arc for shock value which seems to be a trademark of the Kirkman run. It's likely he'll serve as a 616 sacrificial lamb a la Beast and Psylocke.
