If you got super speed, who cares about flight? You can pretty much get anywhere you want to in a blink of an eye.

Flight's just such a fun concept. It completely opens up your movement possibilities from 2-D to 3-D. Plus, you're much less likely to run into people/cars/buildings.

The ones that make the most sense to me are: Flight, Heat Vision, Invulnerability, Speed and Super-Strength. I like those five and would make me pretty formidable. Everything else is purely extra and has been added over the years to make him a god.

Even heat vision and flight were added to his powers later. His original conception was just a super strong alien who could take a tank shell to the face and leap really far, not fly. Flight, X-ray vision, heat vision, ridiculous superspeed, those all came later.
