Chris, you are entitled to your opinion, but whether or not my "career" (and that is your descriptive, not mine) is over remains to be seen. Ronee still needs to sign a 'hold harmless' release in order to get what she earned from July until she left. I probably wouldn't have fared as well emotionally as I did if not for her. I hope she knows that I'm greatful.

How many times do you have to be reminded that you can't retroactively make something a requirement?

It is actually amazing. It would the the simplest way to shut people up, if only he would provide that info. How many have called him a liar for claiming he had an attorney on retainer? he could make all of them, and myself, eat those words.

But he won't. Too many lies and they are all being thrown back in his face.

From your creditors.

And your wife, who you told Ronee you were planning on leaving. You're goddamned lucky no one here's mailed her a copy of that yet.

Oh, hell...

I went back a few pages around the 400-430 mark. All this "Marine" talk has changed my outlook. At first, I just felt really bad for the creators Olney has shafted.

Now I'm pissed to no end.

Like papergirl, my father was a Marine for four years between the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Then he joined the Mississippi National Guard and served for 24 years. Unlike papergirl, I can't show him this garbage and get his insight because he died in June.

However, based on all of the long discussions he and I had about the military, I have a feeling Papa Charlie would say something like this (which he said about other people he knew in the Guard), "He may be in the military, but, just like any group of people, 10% will be complete assholes. They are the fuckers that give the Armed Forces a bad name."

Not that I'm convinced Olney has served a single day in Basic.

Honestly? I just laugh about it. He couldn't show himself as a complete amateur in the publishing world more completely if he tried.

Gail

I know, I know. I totally agree. It's just that it is sooooooooo much like being stuck in a small tent on a hot summer night with this very, very annoying mosquito that just won't stop.

Again Rick, you're ignoring the fact that most professional writers and artists are more than accommodating in putting on happy faces when posing for pictures. They do this for their fans. There is absolutely no correlation between posing for a photo with a smile, to being personally happy with the way you ran your convention.

Oz, ya nailed that one on the head. I attended one (and only one thank heaven's) MMC event. There were more small press creator's an vendors there then attendees (as far as I could tell, I wouldn't want to be the subject of yet ANOTHER legal threat by Moby about that fact). There may even be a photo or two of my being there, with a smile. But it wasn't due to the success/failure of the event. I was there with a friend (who I won't name directly, but who is also still owed money by Rick for a non comics related issue, guess he didn't sign an NDA for that either), and we were having a good time just chattin' away. Nothing else.

It would be also nice for him to answer if he is a Wiccan and has been for a long time as he claims, why does he also say things like this?

"We're taught to turn the other cheek to some extent, and I do try to be a decent Christian"

I've said it before, I'll say it again. He changes his beliefs to suit his current need. In places where he peddles his comics and conventions he's a Wiccan. Everywhere else he calls himself a Christian in posts.

As a Wiccan for 25 years I already get bad enough press for what I believe, Reek using the word only adds to that. I'm thankful to see people here realize his lies.

That's just it, JT.

I was there, too. If I'm seen smiling, it's cuz of the creators I met, some for the very first time. It was the ambiance of fellow creators that made the event.

And I think just about any guest who was there will attest to fact that it seemed like more us than them. I know I spent more time walking around the tables and shaking hands with other guests than I did talking to attendees. Although the few I did meet were not only very appreciative, some actually ordered a few commissions on the spot.

I remember the football game Gail talked about. That's how bored some guests were; they had to make their own entertainment.

Promotions were negligible. Organization non-existent. I recall a problem with tables, several planned panels were canceled, the auction never took place, the costume contest shut down at the last minute.

I walked away happy because I met so many great creators. It was my first show in ages. I was a vacation.

But if I had gone to pimp my work and sell my comic . . .

The matter is being handled as any legal matter would be handled.

Amazing. Seem's to me that if there to be any handling of a legal matter, that the attorney of the defendent would be contacting those involved. I've yet to see anything in my mailbox in respect to this issue. The wheels of justice grind slowly, but this would be considered glacial.

Believe it or not, I am more interested in paying talent versus taking anyone into a court situation.

I find this statement hilarious! I've never in my life (never mind career) who resorts to threat's of legal action quicker then this quack. If you're so interested in paying talent, then pay me. That's all.

I should get a gigantic fucking gold star for slogging through almost a hundred pages of this.

Wow.

There was a while there, when I was only 20 pages or so in when I was worried that it was going to come down to me stopping reading this or not getting to the theatre in time for tonight. Thankfully I managed to get through it all in about 3 hours.

Y'all are great, though. Keep up the good work. And Matt, the mailing thing... why the hell not?

And now I have to start getting ready for tonight, when I have a show up against an Eagles playoff game. Cause that's fun. Hopefully the "Greek Tragedy" and "football" crowds don't overlap too much.

Thanks, Danny, and no worries, you've very welcome here.

This is a perfect example of what a lot of us experienced, that Rick would cry and whine about stubbing his toe, and mope hugely and childishly that that should not only free him from his obligations, but ALSO should generate huge waves of sympathy for him.

But he showed himself to not even LISTEN to the reverse, when we needed the promised monies (in my case, money out of my own pocket) because we had a personal tragedy. No, no, no, not our Olney.

I just think he never grew up.

Gail

Thanks Gail. I appreciate your kindness.

You are a better man than me Danny, but am glad you spoke your piece and that I hope thing are well for you now.

Thanks Doc, I don't know if I'm a better man than you, but I appreciate the kind words. I hope it all gets resolved in some manner. I feel bad about how things have degenerated a bit from the the main focus of people's problems but if it helps them get closure, more power to them I suppose. :)

Hi Gail. I'm Dave Rothe. I just recently finished lettering Ant #'s 6-9 from Image Comics. I'm a letterer. I too have lettered for Mr. Olney in the past. I am still owed $50 for a logo I did for him. He also used said logo in an international press release for his book "Freedom 3" on another well known comic site. Rick wanted me to sign a release for the logo that he used for a promotion on that site but has never paid for it. Individuals like this disappoint me more than anything else. They are ruining an industry that I love being a part of and working in.

TomStillwell

Dave, since he never paid you, did you know that legally the Freedom 3 logo is your property? He can't use it. Period.

By the way folks, Dave is an awesome letterer. I'm lucky to have him on Honor Brigade starting in issue #3 and he'll be inking an upcoming project. If you guys ever need a true professional who is easy to work with, Dave is the man.

Well Edge and HHH are the exceptions to this rule though. Because Edge did cheat on his wife with Amy Dumas on the road. Screwing over his wife and his good pal who was dating her.

HHH used his position on the card to start a relationship with Stephanie McMahon . Plus his behavior backstage has always been known to be driven by ego more or less.

Bob Holly has done some jerkish things like picking on young guys backstage and being a general bully. I don't doubt what we saw when he took advantage of that young kid in the Tough Enough show a few years back where he punked him for the hell of it.

Olney could play a heel and be pretty damn good at it I feel. Yeah guys like Jericho and Christian are great guys who really aren't jerks backstage . They as you listed as Abdullah are sweet honest guys behind the camera.

He made me take the ICC and MMC topics off the IF Forum cause of his paranoia, probably thinking Ian might steal it.
He also wouldn't let some SPA members on cause they were spies.

Ohhh yeah. Rick would make an awesome heel if he did do a wrestling match at a Convention. He could cut a promo " So how many of you f-ckers did I not cut a check too ? Your all in my path to greatness. "

Thanks Doc, I don't know if I'm a better man than you, but I appreciate the kind words. I hope it all gets resolved in some manner. I feel bad about how things have degenerated a bit from the the main focus of people's problems but if it helps them get closure, more power to them I suppose. :)

I hope no one walks out this as I have in the past, closed off and shaving years off your goals because of dissillusionment.

Yes there is a lot of pent up anger that needed to be released. I think in the end "Rick" will get his just desserts and folks will have had that weight off their shoulders.

All of the erasing of posts strikes me as an unfortunate form of Enron-style document-shredding.

Deleting an offense is in no way the same as a retraction or an apology.

Missiles can not be un-launched, bombs can not be un-dropped, triggers can not be un-pulled. Rain can not un-splash. Tears can not un-fall.

Actions once taken can not be un-taken.

Time is linear. Action begets reaction.

There's a line between "less talented than some" and "so untalented a writer that you can't post a coherent, let alone orginal-sounding sentence and to even call yourself a writer when you haven't written anything is like calling yourself a publisher when you haven't published anything, or paid anyone for anything they've ever done for you, and you're a jackass who like to think he's the most hated man in comics, when the average reader doesn't even know your name and it's really only people that know anything about you that hate you". Austen did Uncanny X-Men. He really had flew under the radar for years and after he got the X-Gig he started doing some quick changes. People accused him on his views of women and all with how he wrote them in his stories.

The online fans torched him and he did himself no favors when he gave an online interview calling out posters on a message board. Of course Austen has said the behavior impacted him off-line and that people would tell his kids he should be fired and at conventions people would just erupt on him.

But for the 2003-2005 era , Chuck Austen's name was pretty hated online. Joe Quesada in a Wizard interview said that he wouldn't listen to the online fans and fire Austen .

Yes. I don't disagree with you that Austen crossed that line, and the the quality of the work was so poor as to actually be insulting and offensive to the audience. It did affect my opinion of him as a person, to be honest.

Dave, I'm sorry you're part of the large group of creators who ran into this guy and were cheated for your efforts.

Again, this is why we have this thread, because of this disgusting 'man's' cheating.

Chuck Austen is a comics writer (and sometimes artist) that has done a few okay comics, and some really awful ones. He's a guy who doesn't care about established character at all, and who comes up with pretty nonsensible plots. In other words, a not very good writer. I don't know a thing about what he's like as a person.

In contrast, "Rick" is an uncreative individual that rips people off.

It's no contest. Austen has written a lot of bad comics, but Olney is a bad person.

Your concern copyrights/permission is admirable to say the least. I would,

completion date) and it would be legal and permissable.

Thgink it over because I'm serious. I sort of like the idea of my upcoming

I'll add here that his "legal advice" was not good then, and isn't good now. I pitched him a price quote, far under the real value of the item, since he also was making noises about bringing me to the MMC on his dime. Thank goodness I didn't have the funds to start the project without a deposit from the "client", or I would be either sitting on a very strange Spider-Man quilt, or he would, and I'd be really mad about that.

Paris isn't *entirely* useless like Rick is.

For example, she is a great singer ( ) and has a tv show that's lasted a couple seasons. Not bad for someone with no talent to speak of.

Larry is a fun neighbor, but a damn hard act to be next to! I figure maybe people will remember me enough from last year to at least stop and talk a little this year. I'm a nobody with a peculiar way to express creativity (could say that I might be the only comic book art quilter out there, but I can't confirm that ;) ) but I'm first and foremost a comic book reader from waaaaay back and love the enthusiasm of the community.

Lots of people drop out of ASU. Heh. I'm a Virginia Tech Hokie, myself. They forgive me for it around here on a regular basis.

Thanks for the compliment! I'll be looking forward to seeing a lot of you guys at CAPE this year too.

Just saw some of your work at your site. Very impressive! :D

Will you ever do art for comics? Your ability to mimic other artists (Colan to Quesada etc) is flawless!

Olney is pretty akin to an Oz and Frankenstein merger, huh?

We at YABS are the villagers with pitchforks and torches chasing him as he runs from countryside to countryside threatening lawsuits to little children standing near creeks. But as we get closer and pull apart the stitches... the facade crumbles. A foot here, (Ric Olie) an ear there, (his "lawyer"), some guts (his alleged Marine Corp service).

And we discover this empty husk of a man...
all different borrowed organs... but straw for brains.

Shame... this mythological beast has neither the
brains, the heart or the courage of the OZ trio.

And we pull back the curtain and discover both the
"Great" Wizard, huckster with no substance...
and we discover the mad scientist... creating
a monster with no working parts and no
remorse.

Indeed, the con that makes EVERYBODY feel good. Family-friendly atmosphere, treated the guests with the highest regard, and it's all free to the public, and the tables are free for the artists. These guys are top-notch. I accepted the invitation earlier this week to come to Dallas. Wouldn't miss it!

And yes, I can do any sort of art in thread painting. It's all freehand stuff, and I love to do it. I'll have the sewing machine there demonstrating the technique, provided I can wrangle a long extension cord from Sean again. :)

I'd really like to get the chance to do a cover sometime for a comic, using this technique. It reproduces very well, and the variety of threads have gotten almost limitless. The reason all my stuff so far that you've seen is Daredevil is because I've been reading the comic forever, and 2004 was the 40th anniversary at Marvel for the character, and I thought it was a good mesh of two interests. So, that's what you get when you cross a quilter with a comic geek!

Do you know if Quesada knows about your website?

The first quilt I did featured David Mack's art, and I contacted him before I did it to confirm that he was ok with it.

I sent Joe Quesada pictures of his art, and before I did ANY of this, I personally asked Quesada at Wizard World Texas if I could reproduce some of the classic DD art in thread. His answer was it was fine. It's like fan art...as long as I'm not digitizing and mass producing this, I am fine. Otherwise, I would need formal licencing (like they do for the Spidey sheets and pillows, etc.)

Dan Buckley, Marvel publisher, has also seen them in person, and asked me if I had contacted MoCCA about displaying them there. I haven't gotten the nerve up yet to send photos, but that would really be something to get to show them in a nice venue like that. So far, they've been seen at a couple of cons, and I've been to local libraries to give short talks about comics and graphic novels to youth groups. That has been a blast.

Hey married people, I have a question. In Ric Olney's picture with Heidi, Gail and husband, I do not see a wedding band on Olney's hand unless it's on his pinkie finger of his right hand which wouldn't make any sense to me. Any theories on why someone wouldn't wear their wedding band to a con? I've seen guys have to remove their rings in the football leagues I use to play in, but a convention?

I'm not married so maybe I'm missing something there in my ignorance but I just wondering.

Thanks.

DM Jim aka 'James Roberts'

Due to personal experience, I tend to not trust a man who doesn't wear his wedding band. Now, Gail sticks up for her hubby, and that's cool. But I've met too many men who don't wear the ring and act like single men in public.

Then again, I can't see Olney getting any with or without the ring.

I'm married and almost never take my ring off. Only time I do is if my hands swell from doing strenious work, and then I give it to my wife to wear, and take it back by the end of the day when it's time to sleep. It's the only jewelry I wear, and I feel weird with out it on.

Well, neither of us wear our wedding bands much. We both have problems with fluctuating finger size, and I've already had to hacksaw one ring off my finger... don't want to do it with the wedding band. We tend to save 'em for special occasions.

And just so you know... I have two "very special rings": one is my wedding band, and one an anniversary band he bought me on our 6th anniversary. We went to the courthouse to get married (poor college students), and he took an el cheapo band so I could get the pretty tri-gold $50 one from Walmart. I still wear it on occasion. Neither of us currently has really fancy "wedding bands" to wear, which is just as well, since we both have the "sizing" problem. :D

Anyway, my husband has turned down all kinds of offers, when he's "traveling on the road," and I'm perfectly content with his discretion in dealing with such issues. Once, he showed this girl (who was hitting on him) my picture, and her response was to tell him to take her home with him, because she'd "do" me too. :D I laughed my ass off over that one. (And yep, he went back to his hotel room ALONE that night, even though his compatriots had gotten him drunk.)

I have an AWESOME husband. :) Retains his brains even when he's drunk... and that's just one of his many sterling qualities.

Customers. I had visions of someone chomping down on a burger and breaking a tooth. ;)

It was actually my wife's idea that I no longer wear it to work. We have a lot of trust in our relationship.

Our wedding rings don't really look much like typical wedding bands anyway. So they don't shield us much from getting hit on. Not that is happens a lot with me. She gets hit on a lot more.

For example, she is a great singer ( ) and has a tv show that's lasted a couple seasons. Not bad for someone with no talent to speak of.

Things happened, I wasn't too pleased with. I'd like to take a second and mention that, while I haven't heard from very many on the idea of a BBB/CBLDF, and couple of my e-mails have gone unanswered, I am going to be forging ahead with the idea in the SPA, as a direct, integrated function of the group and our Distribution system we are building. So anyone that wants to add their voice to the development, and otherwise help support the effort, I would hope you can take a moment away from trying to get Rick Olney to answer questions he never will, and check it out:

http://www.dimestoreproductions.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,137/topic,2323.0/

Having a solid distribution system for Indies and small press is becoming more and more NEEDED, as Diamond carries fewer and fewer new companies. Banding together and using the tools that we've built at the SPA - and helping build the ones that are still needed - will go a long way towards making sure the NEXT person that doesn't get what they are promised from a publisher, or a publisher from a printer, or what not, whoever is wronged by whoever, doesn't get to do it for years, and doesn't get to get away with it.

I hope you'll all check out our Distro and the ideas in that thread as they develop.

Oh, soon, soon, this circus will close. The audience will walk out of the big top, having enjoyed each other's company -- in spite of the fact that the events in the three rings were kind of pathetic. The circus will move on. But the audience will decide to hang out together at the local diner. And for years to come, the Diner Gathering will be a great time - folks will be trading stories and books and catching up. And they'll hardly ever think about the crappy little circus that triggered the much bigger event, and sparked so many friendships. They'll probably never even think about the name of the crappy, tattered tent-dwelling side show.

Boy, from what I can see, Olney is a jerk.
Oh hey, hold on, doorbell.

Goes to answer; finds a mystical looking fairy, wearing a sparkly gown and waving a magic wand topped with a mushroom. In her other hand rests legal papers.

"Teehee!" she says in a giggly, fairy voice. "I am Rick Olney's lawyer! Since you made two comments in the cbr thread, a place where anyone IN THE ENTIRE WORLD could comment in, you need to appear in court to testify about the things you've seen in an open thread that anyone IN THE ENTIRE WORLD could see, you troll!! TEEHEE!"

Watches the dumb, pretty fae creature flit off to the neighbors, because she told them about Rick Olney.

Subpoena the world, man!
Good God, you're hilarious. *troll and proud*:D

That was priceless. As Diana Fan said last night, it would be cheaper to pay all the people who are owed money than it would to get people to take depositions and travel to testify. What the hell?

Deadbeat only begins to describe this man. Should I put "man" in quotations?

Pretty much. If he honestly thinks that the judge will fly the entire forums in to hear evidence thats basically people saying the same things he should have done , what would a compentant legal person say for wasting the courts time ?

I also love the threats against sueing Mark Waid for picking up legal bills and all. That was priceless. I'm sure Waid is worried over it.

That only works if he has money to pay them with. He doesn't (or won't even try to pay it off by selling items he owns*).

Since that's not an option Rick is still stalling and/or intimidating people with lawsuits. Only, for some reason that escapes me, no-one believes he'll ever go through with this** so it isn't logically for him to use this tactic, either.

He's really got no options here.

But one thing that is clear is that he's blackballed *himself* from the comic industry with this idiotic behavior.

Edit:

If he ever does get to court, assuming he doesn't go on the run immediately, the only lawyer he'll get is a court appointed one. The poor bastard (the lawyer, not Olney).

It'd be great if he represented himself and someone got it on video-tape. Comedy gold right there.

He'd constantly be sent to jail for pissing off the judge(s) with his insanity. lol

* even with the Van of Justice it'd still take him years to pay back the money (I suggest he start sending in applications for the local McDonalds just to get some paychecks rolling in)

** if by some chance he does not only will he lose badly but it will make him an even bigger laughing stock once it's public knowledge!

Retcons only happen in fiction.

We all are judged by others by what we do.

It is a truism in all strategies that an arrow can not be un-fired.

Damn, you're a wise bugger, Lazz.

I really think he loved the attention . That it was some awe inspiring feat pretty much. Nevermind it was sinking the company he wants to launch. As he tried last week to tell me , that negative PR is better than no PR.

Of course logic will tell you...no , not when your trying to launch a new indie company and line of books. Since its hard enough to break in and be huge. Let alone piss off creators/retailers/fans all in 1 swoop.

Just wanted to say how much I enjoy this thread. As a small-business man who relies on customers paying up on time I am very familiar with the frustration of getting screwed over. The loss of faith always hurts more than the loss of cash.

It's interesting to see how high up on the list this thread is getting when you do a Google of Rick Olney. Right now it is number eight; number one is my favourite  - http://www.jazmaonline.com/interviews/interviews2.asp?intID=290, with this quote from Rick "To all those that feel I've hurt them; Forgive me. To all those that know the warmth of my friendship; Remember me. To those that loved me, know that I love you still today. I was only here in the spotlight of life a brief time, but you've all made my life the richer for my exposure to you."

I would like to help Ian. Now that the tables for The Jam are sold maybe we can get some info out to the creators there to assist. Maybe folks could come to The Small Press Pavler Chat tonight at 7CST or The SPA chat on Tuesday I believe at 7 as well.

Oh, "Rick" IF sold enough table to our show to break even though you tried to sabatoge our moral with your statements we prevailed. So now we are planning a blitz to get the public out. You are, literally, served papers.

Someone shows up at the door, sometimes the sheriff, and hands you papers. They declare "You've been served", and that's that. Sometimes they make you sign for it, sometimes not.

Also, papers can be delivered to the last known address. That can be home or place of business. In this case, that would be home.

Quite painless, really, unless you fear what it written in the documents that showed up at your door.

That's another thing any creators from here can do to help out the SPA/IF/Palavers - stop in at the live chats we have. We used to have regular guest speakers for chats, ("BRO" = "Before Rick Olney", and things got all splintered. It was a grea way to announce a new project cause we'd have like 15-25 people at the chats, but then we also post the transcripts for everyone else to read...

For a while we had it so the speakers would sponsor a giveaway each week. Not sure if we're ready to bring that sort of thing back, but...Whoever made it to the chat would get a free item of the Sponsor's choice. That's what Darediva was mentioning many pages back, having never received the item RO said he'd send out. I don't know of anyone that did get one, myself included. But anyway, if anyone here wants to help us out by being NAMED GUESTS at the chats, let me know off-board, and I'll put you on schedule in our Kick Start newsletter (which appears on the Dimestore home page each week).

on question. . . for anyone who may know. If you serve someone w/ a lawsuit, do you get a message when the papers have actually been served? (I mean, for those who have filed against peanut , do you know when he actually gets handed the papers?)

Whoever serves the summons and complaint on the party (sheriff or process server) generally makes note of who, when and where the service was made and returns proof of service to the courthouse. If it is service by sheriff, a copy may be mailed to the attorney filing suit (here in PA). When I was clerking in Chicago, we just went to the courthouse to check up on service. We generally didn't do this until after the date the defendant had to file his/her appearance. When we used a process server, he sent the proof of service to us and we turned it into the courthouse. But in either case, it wasn't an immediate thing.

The defendant also has a specific amount of time after service to file his appearance at the courthouse and then the whole thing begins. Should the defendant not file an appearance, a date is set for the plaintiff to prove their damages and a default judgment would be entered and then collection proceedings would begin.

And that's your civic lesson for today.

GO Bears!

The average fan/reader can do a number of things. Foremost of which is buy your indies and small press that you can't get from your local store, through Dimestore. The more sales Dimestore can pay the creators for, the more they will support the system as well. On most things for sale to individuals (as in-if you are not a retailer, cause there are different rates for retailer sales) the publisher is getting 90% of the cover price of their book.

Support Self Publisher! Magazine by trying out an issue, seeing what it's all about.

It's not rocket science...publishers need a distribution system that frees them up from trying to be creators, publishers, AND self-distributors, but they are going to go where the SALES are. We've tried to create a fun and easy to use system, based on YEARS or trial and rror learning of what works and what doesn't...now, we have to see how real readers feel about it, and get them to use it.

Someone shows up at the door, sometimes the sheriff, and hands you papers. They declare "You've been served", and that's that.
You have to have a breakdance competition with the sheriff?

Do we have any definitive word that artists have now sued Olney? Has he been served with any papers yet?

He has. That is all I can say.

GO Bears!

If I recall correctly it's about 30 days to get a return of service notification. Usually it is mailed but in this day and in Chicago a person can check an electronic court docket to see if people were served. It's either NS (not served) or PS (parties served). You can also use the online system to check if an appearance has been filed for a party and who filed the appearance on their behalf.

I'm not aware of anything locally I can use to check Olney's legal status online. I can however call the circuit court clerk in that area and see what information is available. I have the phone # and I'll call on Tuesday.

Federal court, on the other hand, is an open online book. I can check on anything...civl cases, bankruptcies, criminal cases...anywhere in the USA.

Paris isn't *entirely* useless like Rick is.

For example, she is a great singer ( ) and has a tv show that's lasted a couple seasons. Not bad for someone with no talent to speak of.

She also became incredibly famous after her porno was "discovered", making her easily x10 as famous as she was before.

Not to mention her movies and tv shows have been released for the public, unlike Rick who has almost nothing on his "comic" resume.

Point taken.

Well maybe folks are getting info together about "Rick" plus he hasn't been here to goad us or make new false statements. Maybe the calm before the storm??

Oh, "Rick" IF sold enough table to our show to break even though you tried to sabatoge our moral with your statements we prevailed. So now we are planning a blitz to get the public out. Though not as lavish as the Big Cons we will maintgain the old convention atmosphere of the old 70's cons so fans and creators can communicate.

I would like to have an auction with proceeds going toward "Unscrewed" so Tim can concentrate on getting creators and staff together and not worry about print costs.

Bless you, Doc! I'm still getting myself in gear for the work, but I had been wondering how to start raising the up-front funds that may be needed one way or another. This idea is a real possibility, a good idea. (Now I'll go back to catching up on some things.)

I think he derived pleasure from hurting people who trusted him. His comments were off the scale unprofessional and disgusting. None of the attention went to the material, all on him.

Thanks Sarah, it comes from something Gail said to me in an earlier thread. My partner Wally is for helping out where we can.
