....Spidey to keep his Black Costume?
Personally I hope he keeps it for more than a year even if the movie would have already come out then.
I was really hoping for the Iron Costume to last longer than a year, and the traditional backlash forces them to make it temporary...that sucks...
The Iron costume was always supposed to be temporary. Marvel didn't ever say anything different.

No long...its not my favorite of Spidey's suits. I really liked scartlet-spider and Ben's alternative Spidey suit. I wouldn't mind for a few months (4-8) but any more would be too much.

I'd say at least a year.
Anything less will make it seem too much like a gimmick. (I know it is a gimmick, but they can at least try to hide it.)

Since I like his black costume best... permanently!
Barring that I think it should be used as necessary... like at night or when stealth is required. That would keep me happy!

I really liked /snip/ Ben's alternative Spidey suit.
Do you mean the lame ripped blue hood outfit with the ballet dancers red tights????????

What do you call the tights that Spidey wears now? Masculine Asskicking Ballet Dancers tights with more color and black lines? Tights are tights my friend.
I loved the Scarlet Spider costume and the Ben Spidey costume, I thought they were both great alternatives to the regular one. Plus the scarlet spider costume wasn't supposed to be a slight alteration of the spidey suit, cause he's a different character all together, where as the Ben suit was ben's take on spider-man. But the black suit kicks major balls as well. I just hate the fact that they're pushing the movie release way too much (black costume in all books, and how Sandman is coming back out of no where)
I'd say if they want to go with a darker/rebel look for Spidey that would be less of a sellout, I'd love for them to bring back the stealth costume Fury gave him in Secret War, they should bring that one back and the Daredevil stealth suit back.
I think it would be cool to see Peter fight and swing around in his civi clothes, and now is a better time for that than anytime before.

You can't explain the "dumb hood-thing" other than Ben must have just seen a mugging and was in a big hurry to put something together, and he still wanted to use the red/blue color scheme and he needed more red since his name is the "Scarlet" spider.
But you have to agree with me when I say Scarlet Spider look is better than The Bag Man costume, I mean come on.
I dunno, i just think that many of the spidey costumes are just great compared to other heros different takes of their costumes. But I'd still like to see the SW stealth costume used instead of selling out and using the black suit, I just hope we get to see it another time down the road, plus it would make more sense to use the stealth suit cause Peter is more connected to Fury since he's helping Cap out with everything from bases to new I.D.s, why not give him his costume back....him and DD.

Auny May always told Peter/Ben to put his hood up when it was cold.
I would sell my first born for a Scarlet Spider Marvel Legends figure.
I like the black costume but if it's meant to be a mood then only a year. Spider-Man can't be too dark and depressing, anyone remember the horrible year or so we had when they killed MJ last time?

Completely agree. I loves me some black costume, but as long as it's going to be representative of his mood, I'd like it gone as soon as possible. A year, tops.

Thirded.
I think a great representation of the black costume during Spider-Man's life was during Kraven's Last Hunt which I read recently. The story was much bleaker and darker then the usual Spidey titles and the black costume fit perfectly with Peter's moods and just the tone of the book.
That's one of the cool things about Spider-Man, it can be fun and colorful but also dark and moody when done right. I hope they don't kill MJ, Aunt May seems more like a person that should kick the bucket as much as I love the character since she's waay to old and she's been through alot herself.

I'd like to see him alternate between the black suit and the original costume, much like he did in the late 80s. There's no need for "all black costume, all the time" for a year or whatever and to then hang it up forever. He can switch back and forth between the two suits, much like Logan does with his brown costume and that yellow-and-blue monstrosity. Pete could use the black costume more often, say, at night or for stealthy adventures (and by extension, the writer could use one or the other costume to help set tone and mood for the story). It doesn't have to be so dramatically "either/or" about the black suit or the red and blues; just keep both.

I think about a year would be fine. I like it more than Iron Spidey but I still like the traditional costume the best!

The Black Costume was only supposed to be temporary also when it debuted back in Secret Wars 8...... But the dam thing keeps coming back!

An year sounds good.
You don't want it to be too long, given the quality of the original.

As long as there are good stories to tell with it.
Never really liked the black, prefer the normal and Iron.

He could keep the black costume forever as far as I'm concerned. When he does go back to the classic though, I say update it.

That's the problem with trying to update the classic costume, it's never done well enough to replace it.
The closest thing that I can think of was his House of M outfit which was very good and something of a mix of the 2099 one and the classic red and blue.

I think they had a good update of the original when Ben Riley took over as Spidey. The only real changes were that the symbol was made bigger and there was a little more blue in the costume. It looked classic enough and yet modern.

well ideally I'd like Spidey to keep the FF costume that Johnny gave him (with 'Kick Me' sign still attached) :D
but I would love the black costume to stay forever (alternating with the classic red & blue threads)
but I reckon once the film's out of the way (on DVD at the latest) Spidey will be red & blue again

a Black Costume is not just for Christmas, its for life...
But yes I prefer the House of M costume to Classic.
Black Costume was the best, is the best and will always remain the best.

I would really love the black costume to stay on for years to come. I'd really like it that it's not just for looks but a costume that peter made to himself an upgrade to his powers.
I still miss the Ben Reilly costumes.
You know one thing I'd really like them to bring back is the Spidey Armor suit that he had on in Web of spider-man a long time ago. It was shiny, awesome, and took alot of punishment. It just proved what spidey can do with his scientific side to make stuff and I wish he would make pretty cool gadgets with his own lab after civil war but that's just me dreaming.

I say it should go back to how it was back in the day, when Pete used to switch between the red-and-blues and the black costume. The black suit should become a permanent back-up costume. If it were up to me, he'd take the symbiote back as well, maybe after giving it a mindwipe to get rid of the homicidal persona it has nowadays.
